make a long pouch with backbone in it, lay it along th fork.

good to go.

Or go AH BOY there buy a drink cup holder and use lor.

ahhh... good idea to mount it at the front. but i was thinking more of at the back. where the saddlebags should be. but i'll explore the possibility of mounting at the front too. thank guys

It will be easy to hook up something to the forks and the other easy place is the rear subframe. If you have an existing top box rack it's even easier.

get the umbrella that looks like a samurai sword :D

rear subframe is inaccessible from th outside of th bike. -______________-

th two 'thing' on th outside holding th rear fender is th rear strut, not frame.

erm guys, i plan to install an umbrella holder onto my TA200 like how Arnold slot the shotgun on the bike in the terminator 2 movie(no pics or reference).

anybody have any suggestions on what can be installed or improvise to create a similar design?

YES! something like this but at the rear instead! a holster of sorts at the rear!

but i took a good look at phantom's buttocks and there isn't really much space on top of the exhaust pipe. =/

uh.. waited for my previous reply to get moderated until neck long long so decide to reply again.

but that's the kinda idea i was looking for. a shotgun holster thingie but for umbrellas and installed at the back where the saddlebags are.

but after taking a good look at the phantom's backside, like not much space also cos the exhaust is actually quite long. :(

Anyone knows if ah koon sell ape hangers for phantom ? Not those super high de. just higher types. Using a drag bar now , but the width sometimes make it hard to split when you need to.

Will hit car mirrors at the height.

Any idea, and if it's legal ?

Adventure.

it's never legal.. anything higher then shoulders it's illegal...

Mounting is the same.

1) You might need a longer throttle & clutch cable.

2) You will not have problems with cars, but Lorries/vans instead.

3) Not acceptable by LTA.

Hey good people of PK, I just bought a pair of saddlebags from Thailand.

Is there anywhere I can get brackets for them (protect from sliding or touching exhaust)

Checked with AhKoon...he'll only do his DIY L-bracket for those who buy saddlebags from him..sigh.

Bestest if someone has experience in DIY saddlebags bracket!!

Hope I can find some hope here...

ahcaibiker, yeukeong, kmjoe...Thx all for the replies!

kmjoe senior... by any chance do u have pics of your DIY bracket? I hope I can at least make something abit similar ^^ (coz me virgin in DIY, haha)

Also thinkin of doing a respray.. called YEOW, HLC.. they both quoted me mid 200s for ONE color.

Ain't there any more $200 for 1 color decent job? T_T

actually 1 color is ez to diy, only matter is time and u need spare tank, fenders to work on, mine cost less than 100, but than the finishing is not tt professional la, but its still doing well as long its been taken care of ...

the L bracket would look something like this http://i00.i.aliimg.com/photo/v0/297567146/heavy_duty_L_bracket.jpg den u jus gota add on another metal piece to one end of it and attach it to one of the screws at the side of ur bike

This is called "anyhow add storage". I could do worse, like putting tupperware containers as tank bags hahahaha

Total damage $15 from LAB for both "fork bags". Despite the improvised (as usual) mounting they passed the "kitten standard" go highway at 120kph for 30 minutes test.

Hello congrats, well the top 3 places that immediately come to mind are:

pinkphantom,

LAB (Lim Ah Boy) along Kelantan Lane

and

Ah Koon Lengkok Bahru, around Jalan Bukit Merah area

they carry a lot of products and generally helps to do installation however, might have to wait a long while.

Alternatively, there are many DIY maestros and if you are available, do join up the next bike wash/outing/convoys to get inspiration and chit chat to find alternatives.

Enjoy! =)
