What a coincident in tots..I wanted metalic gun barrel black and dark metalic for styling flow which is quite close to yours'...but somewhat I decided to do what it is now because I used to have one of the very first 5 CBX400 Boon Siew brought in the old days..yeah...down memory lane.

As for looks...aiya..not literally that you are good looking, meant to say you look good on the bike la...ou know.."Galrang Galrang Style_Mistibiwa la..boleh?

I took during raining day n dont ve any other picz for now

Heh Xdir...just as solid leh..I think what gave is your browning steel header..if you want to shine like mine (most ppl tot it was chrome)..can tell you how..errr..but you have to have time for it. I believe the glisten would bring "Live" to your total appearance.

One thing I ahrdly want a new bike..the challenge of keeping it as good as knew..both looks and performance...heeeee...x2!...like girls taking all kind of 'drugs' to look young and sassy like that...fun hor!

Oh "glisten"..meaning :

to reflect a sparkling light or a faint intermittent glow; shine lustrously in bright sun shine day.

Also...what I meant by "Chrome" is that steel normally done reflect like chrome which has a "wet look"..but don't know leh..the PB1 header looks very 'chromed' indeeed when poslish up nice and proper.

Ok here is the way I go about it...base on your image condition..I suggest

..you buy the finest sand paper (1200CW silicon carbide type and water proof 1 sheet is enough) and this is very common in any HDB hardware shop.

Wet the sand paper with water and put some "Jif" (use for cleaning kitchen dishes and utensile stuff) on it.

Gently (don't apply to much force..except for stubborn areas)'polished' all the heavy soiled tarnish header till you can see steel..not to worry if it looks 'sanded' or blur blur...just remember each time you keep doing it, the sand paper must be wet.

Once this is done and you see clean steel metal..that's it..dried the header with a clean cloth.

This is the best part...go get a bottle of "Meguiar's" NXT Generation all metal polish. The packing is a small impact plastic half height of a milk can and light green and dark blue in colours...it says on the label.."highest shine possible"..there you go. You can get it fron NTUC Hub in AMK Central at about $16.20 (on slae sometime at $13.20...that's when I grab them heee..x2!) or if you stay nearby Kallang Bahru, there is a workshop (service and modified scooters and cubs)near Glen Motor (same row two or three units away) that sells for $15.00.

Just apply this cream paste with a clean cloth and rub gentlly in cirvular motion first...than when shine shows, rub any way you want. One very IMPORTANT thing...while you are rubbing and the part in contact is black from residue of your header..don't change to cleaner cloth area...keep rubbing with the black area cloth..apply small thin amount of the paste on the cloth or header again if you want but keep using the black area. Once you are satisfied...just wipe the black streaks off the header and Voila!!!...'chrome' you see...may be not first time round la..but 3/4 chrome at least. Once you have set that standard..once every two weeks can lah.

Good luck and oh..caution though..don't get addicted to the smell of the paste..damn addictive..scent like "tutifruity chewing gumdrop" like that..I always like to smell smell some when on the job...heh...x2!

 ..forgot to mentioned that my left/right level also 'chromed' and my lower fork housing also kena rubbed until like chromed  Yes..for your header...it can be so refelective that you can see the "plugs" in your gum or your threads from your shirt button holes

thanks for your comments

bro, if u buy liao, sorry for the not good cooment. no offend. cos i tot u going to buy one and ask for comment. i use b4 so.. eh.. can buy la. got S4 model not i dun know, but its... really normal and.. ok.. i face this.. when normal corner time is unstable(too hard). and the thing can't adject so very hard, when pass humb very bumbpy. when E-brake your bike will tend to sink forward alot so your front fork will take all the absorb(means absorb X2 time). the back too hard liao.. so it won't sink a bit at all.. danger.. in theory the back absorber should sink with the front fork although not fully sink. so your bike won't behind been lift up on air a bit become skid... i apologist if i mention the staff u buy no good.. sorry bro..

Haha! I had the same thought before I reprayed my bike. The 50th anniversary red/white (or cream to some) is unique, but it looks dirty after some time. You won't regret givin' your babe a new coat of paint, trust me.

Oh man...I love your Header and the bike as well... super Feeewet! :lovestruck:

Thanks Hondaman for your kind words..and yah...seem like the header always turn heads..time you guys does the same to your header.

Heh s4vs..not to worry as you can get your paintwork to look jsut as good. But if it damage now (faded due to polishing) afraid not much you can do to get the depth of colours back. You ahve to maintain from start..ie. after a new respray job or if its not too badly faded. All you have to know is the difference in polishing and waxing.

Most paintwork stays shinny and very Kilat because of waxing which actually is protecting your polished surface. If its too faded...that mean your acrylic coating (some pppl call it "laquer" layer) is gone and so does the "gloss" of it. This is the layer that gives you the "wet deep look". Normally you would polished only when the paint work is really dull or oxidise..and polishing is actually removing your surface layer. Polish is actually very mild rubbing compound and you have to know what you are buying.

After you polished, the paint work would look shinny again but not protected and the first layer is porous which is easily ffected ny environmental elements...worst being bird ****. So you have to wax after polished. In our weather and humidity here..good waxing last about 2 weeks and you have to do again if your bike is not sheltered.

Sometime...like me lazy to wax for that wet deep look...I use a "detailer" (sort of a spray on quick wax) which helps remove insect residue and bird **** that dries up under hot sun.

So...wash...then polish..then wax..and maintain with "detailer". You guys can drop by "Autobag" at Bukit Batok and see all these stuff..but don't buy there lah..xpensive compare to anywhere else taht has it.

If you guys want to have a good polish...get "Waxshop" scratch and swirl remover..and for waxing..3M Paste wax is still the best. Forget about those expensive synthetic polyer so call ultimate wax (about $49+)..they still can't beat real wax make from "Carnibu" (spelling?)...its from a tree by the same name..it revitalise your paintwork and nourished it with harmful chemical to bring out the colour depth....Amen. :faint:

Well..its up to you mann!!..some ppl like to 'personalise' their bike and sorta have an "identity" or "icon"(heh!....that's Johnnie). If you do like ur colour to be original 50 anniversary...so be it because it marks your bike.

I do mine like what you saw is because the very first Super4 in the early years (1984) known as the CBX400F was like that. I was surprise when they started it with the lunched of their Spec III in Japan.

I was surprised too that there advertisement for the Revo in Japan also use the clour scheme...sorta like a trade mark...but there is one that has a blue instead of Honda red too. Some shop here sell this multicolour one for the Spec 3 at higher price..not sure why.
