i have this problem b4 change the fuel cork assy. try look @ under right side tank. due rubber seal worn out

smiley73, can you explain a little more about what was the problem with your bike? I'm new to servicing my own bikes and haven't taken the tank off before!

can I just replace the current versionS horn with airhorn? without re-wiring the circuit? the technician didn't do a proper job.. fit my airhorn below the crash bar and still leave my current horn as it position.. and only 1 current horn is connected.. i wanna relocate the air horn myself..

its a version S with Hyper VTEC Spec 2 side cover boards and a shory exhaust!!! cool man!

i conclude that its the fuel cork assy leaking...

notice the marks on the areas circled in red...

can any version s riders here pls confirm my conclusion?

My bike's COE is going to expire on Mar 2008. Any suggestion when will be the ideal time to renew the COE?

wadafark, just bought a version s. but it is super problematic.... stupid guy(prev owner) told me he got regular go servicing his bike,flush cooleant, wash carb....bla bla bla....

 

after transfer of ownership go ride my new bike only to discover after 15min,smoke coming out of my engine. so i went to my motorshop which i usually go to since 2B, to my amazed.... Water pump spoil,water pipe burst and radiator spoil.. haiz.. need around 500 to repair this..

 

the mechcanic told me that my engine or block are leaking also.. maybe need to do top overhaul which cost 1k+++..... haiz... might as well buy a spec 1...

 

Want to tell you all be very careful in buying your bike from other ppl.. don be like me.. so call kana "cheat"... now need to fork out 1.5k++ for repair..

electric horn or air horn?? want install someting always tell them where u want it to be. dont let them decide for u

A few weeks back, I accidently loosened the fuel tap from the tank with my knee - when I parked the bike up I noticed the leak, tightened the tap and the leak stopped (from between the tank and the tap). Could this have damaged something in the tap ? I can't see any leak there anymore, always seems to be dry!

But maybe the problem started around that time ... my memory is terrible :S

Picture cant tell where it leak use ur hand feel the fuel cork assy iszit wet? smell of fuel.

 

mine was minor few leak on the fuel float assy, this function link to your fuel gauge. As mention to you the location under the tank right side secure by 4 little screw. feel got any fuel .

 

my case was when open up assy the rubber seal was slightly deform which cause the a minor fuel leak.

our inputs can be considered

for e monthly gatherin. n if within non-vtec family eg. Hondaman wants to have one (tourin to malaysia ) we can always support . rite guys ??

I've touched all around the fuel cork assy but it's dry and doesn't smell of fuel! I'll try and take the tank off tomorrow and check the connecting cables.. will post results later.

I second Hondaman's notion of meeting up and discuss about the issues we all have.. i.e. heating problems, coolant problems and what not.. talking face to face is much appreciated and we can also check around other non-vtec families.. n make more frens on the road.. Upz for the idea..

gkdozer... hhmm i think the price is ok for a version S.. that needs to be repaired.. but still.. i think that we must becareful of wad seller say..i.e. every 5000km serviced.. top engine oil... pump vpower every time n all that ****.. its all sales puff bro..

 

no ones gonna say.."eh bro.. this bike i selling ah.. lotsa problem.. need to change this n that.. total 1kplus.." I think we shud bring experienced frens along to "check" the bike for tell-tale signs b4 purchasing..

 

nevertheless.. hope it serves as a reminder to all future buyers out there to be careful on bike purchases and sales talk.. Cheers!
