You are not supposed to on your high beams all the time. Unless your low beam burnt off.

Why turn off your headlights? When I drive, I am glad that bikes have headlights on all the time. Otherwise it's really easy to miss them. Reverse the thinking when I am riding, and I make sure I turn on the lights all the time.

talking about being fined, I paid my a summons for RM70 today, after kena from the Malaysian TP at the Second Link last Sunday. i ride an old Yamaha Seca II, which has a light switch. when i removed my helmet to clear SG ICQ, my helmet accidentally touched the switch, and turned it off (and of course, I wasn aware). until when after clearing Malaysian customs, and there is the TP blockade as usual. morale: make sure you lights are on at all times, whether in SG or Malaysia. and i am thinking of removing the switch so that my light can be on at all times.

That's because they either installed aftermarket HID without changing the headlight to projectors (quite expensive) or they did not aim the headlights properly. You should not be deterred from turning on your headlights just because of those idiots. It might save your life (or someone else's).

Disabling of Automatic headlamp switch-on function on motorcycles

When motorcycles are in use, their headlamps must be switched on at all times. This is to make the motorcycles more conspicuous to all road users thus enhancing the safety of the motorcyclists.

Motorcycles registered in Singapore on or after 1st November 1997 must be equipped with an automatic headlamp switch-on function to comply with the above requirement.

Disabling of this function is not allowed.

i vote yes. Its is meant to allow other road users to see you. Whether it is night or day. Night is to allow ppl to see you and shine the road to see if there is any dangerous things on the road.

As bikes tend to be smaller and others road users cant see you.

Not to shine on the road to see whether there is money on the ground.

I ever see bikers covering up one headlight (those that have 2 headlight) with numbers and wonder why they did that.

As a biker, we need to make other road users to notice us as much as possible and turning on the bike lights is one way to get drivers to see that we are there.

In fact our headlights should be as bright as possible and not like those malaysian kupkias which is so dim and useless

It doesn't make any difference whether a motorcyclist has the right-of-way or not, the rider is the one most likely to get hurt.

My Headlight is perm on !

But so far,

No matter how bright you damn headlight is!

It doesn't always work in the morning.

Drivers in singapore have a problem.

Or should i say they're good !

They don need the mirrors,

Cause they don use it.

Some even can reverse and hit the wall.

The TP nowadays are so focus in catching

drunk driving, illegal mod, speeding.

They don seems to care about those A--H---

tat change lane w/o givin signal.

In the beginning,

God created the heavens and the earth, and he rested.

He created Adam, and he rested.

Than he created Eve.......................

ever since....... they were both not be able to rest.........even in peace.
