guys, when i start my bike (ta200), sometime gt backfire (very loud).

How to prevent it?

go to ur mech. tell him ur problem. most probably he will do it for free like mine. he just insert something tt looks like a but into one of ur tubes(i dont know what tube) then the backfire problem will be gone. no problem for me ever since. if tt doesnt work, then try other alternative which i think bros here can suggest.

dark mode, or light mode?

Inside your exhasut pipe is what is called the baffle its a hollow pipe with holes in it and around it is packed with an asbestos material after a while the baffle will rust out and fall apart and the material will burn out to nothing...this will casuse the viabration sound make the bike noisy and loose a bit of power..only way to fix is a replacement exhaust pipe...just read the manual its also fitted with a CATALYTIC CONVERTER so have to change when it breaks.

if its leaking externally, it'll be much dangerous to park your bike at the void deck and someone ditches a cigg towards your phantom. :nono:

Backfire when starting from cold is usualy electrical ...when riding its to much fuel.

when cold if you have to wind it over lots before it starts or back fires check plug and earth contacts

finally went down to planet to get my bike checked. ah chong concluded my exhaust catalyic convertor is broken. he said tt one can be cut away for $60. then engine wise, have to do top overhaul and he quoted me $400 or it.

overall consultation at planet was good. though i know its gonna burn a hole in my pocket.

so i went to my regular mech at heng motor. he told me its better for a full overhaul. he checked everything including my exhaust and my ta200 was emitting white smoke. i watch the opening up of the engine and condition was bad inside esp my piston. and when he drain the eo away, there's only abit left.

:sian: :sian: :sian: money money money

thats about it, try not to do hard revving through all gears via feeling(because we don't have rpm meter for ta200,not sure about 200). You can try searching for run in guides in this forum ;)

The earth is the wire that runs from the - terminal on your battery and is screwed to the chaisis of the bike as a ground and also 1 from your coil to the frame thats the black plastic thing the sparkplug lead comes out of..if they get rusty or like a whiteish green powder on them you have to unscrew them get a wee bit of sandpaper and clean them and screw them back.

something strange happened.

just pumped fuel today

my fc improved from 31.3km/l on the last pump, to 36.9km/l this time

usually i pump about once every 2 weeks, with a distance of around 220km (around 32km/l). this time, same distance travelled, but the interval is only 5 days.

what caused the improvement? petrol leak over long period? or inconsistent travelling speed?

happy but strange

i think it is inconsistent travelling speed ba. the variation is not much either. 5km/L.

there was a time where i always travelled short distance my FC became 22km/L i think rev too much in low gear at traffic lights :).

then that time noob to the expressways to got lost travelling up n down my FC was 44km/L :p 6th gear all the way

what did you do recently to your bike? any changes or servicing?

me?

did nothing. except riding longer distance and at higher speeds. expressway most of the time.

last time travel as little as 5km/day, this time is 220km in 5days. maybe last time ppl steal my petrol? lol..

yeah i guess is inconsistent travelling style. but i was shocked to see such big improvement. didnt expect that. next time gonna travel fast and long distance. lol

frankly speaking, I don't know when was the last time I checked my FC  I just know full tank can last me more than a week or so. So I just pump weekly on friday or sat regardless of how much I've left :cheeky:

1 tank of good FC typically indicates an error in calculation. You need a consistent good FC of at least 5 tanks for it to be even remotely indicate a significant FC savings.

Don't mean to be a wet blanket, but that is reality.

If you (apparently) changed nothing on your bike, then why should your FC change? 5+km/l is a HUGE difference just to attribute it to riding style.

yeah i know its hard to believe too. +5km is really too much.. but going ns on coming thurs.. dont have much chance to monitor the FC anymore.

at least it made me happy once. lol

well my input on ur good FC is that u have learnt how to maintain a constant hold of ur throttle where u dun whack the bike as much as u were before hence that explains the change in FC:thumb:

My TA200 feels a bit sluggish recently, wen i am travelling on the expressway and reaching about 100km/h the will like chiong a bit hold back, chiong a bit den hold back again. Any one experienced this before? I juz washed my bike before this happened

hmm.... check your chain tension.. if its to loose your bike will be a bit sluggish and if you get that chiong sound like metal hitting the chain starts slipping and whipping to much and trying to jump teeth..plus spray the chain n keep it lubed well.
