I hate shell cos i have to dismount. If you're tlaking about 125z times the fuel tank is under seat then i've no choice.

i have instances when they told me to dismount; if not they will shut off the pump i using.

they did and i just rode off after the pump attendant refused to help me pump like how he pumps for cars so happily and wiping their windscreen too.

i always p ump caltex cos its the nearest to home and work.

any 98octane will do for me. nothing less.

Esso the best! Got delifrance, polar stuff, and dbs atm...

Not forgetting got speed pass!!!

No preference for me. Anywhere will do. Of course, JB is the best :thumb: ... 50% discount!!!

Actually for me i calculated... not worth going to malaysia to pump petrol, taking into consideration the distance travelled, petrol wasted travelling to and fro.. servicing, tyre wear and tear, chain as well... waste energy and time.. that is of course unless you go in with friends for food or rides... for ppl who dun smoke lagi worse... not saving at all...

caltex and esso both are good.. dun like singapore shell... when you sit don't pump petrol if not will use the loud speaker to ask you to come down....

for me i bo chup... once the pump attendant came to me and ask me to dismount when i was already pumping... i just nod with my nozzle still spraying into the tank... pump until full shake shake then dismount.... :cheeky: but they never threaten to cut off the pump...

Me too. I was sitting on my bike and trying to pump petrol at a Shell station in Toa Payoh. Pressed and let go the lever several times but no petrol came out. Suddenly a booming voice instructed one of the pump attendants to go to me. The guy came over and said, "Sorry sir but you cannot pump while sitting down." NBZ. I already parked so close to the pump that I had trouble getting off my bike cos very squeezy. I told the guy, "It's OK," but inside my heart, damn tu lan...

just stand up, i mean with ass off the seat.. dunno that works anot...

Actually the petrol is similar one lah.....

but now very exp

yeah all petrol sama sama lah... just personal preference... if i dun remember wrongly, recently, there is a local magazine which feature a test on diff petrol in singapore... actually not much diff, even with our 'designer' fuel, vp, also not much power diff... my friends actually tried diff petrol in their cars and found that consumption not much diff also.. WAT MORE MILEAGE!!! :sian:

oh...how come..i still used credit card for less 20 leh.

no problem then.......mmmm.mmmm.......

it's the 7-11 policy... they say no CC payment below $20 which is why i switched to SPC recently... feels good!!!

hey hey ;

Everyday eat fried rice, I will be bored to death. I just pump anywhere, though used to be Esso because it's nearest. For French loaf, cakes, ATMs, I would just ride to the place that got it, because I like riding to places, and plus I'm forgetful. I would be at my fren's doorsteps, only to be bombarded "Eh, tot ask you to buy french loaf?" when I had just pumped at Esso before reaching.

why do they dont allow bikers to sit while pump petrol?

To ride on the road, You need skills,Stamina, or even luck.

But to be a good rider, you have to change with your environment, and adjust yourself to its rhythm.

Cultivate the confidence to face the different situations. Don't let yourself to be subdued by the environment :thumb:

Was actually planning to swtich to caltex or esso when shell started to change their store to 7-11.

was riding a sp - so normally full tank ard 10+ dollar, under shell management, i can use a credit card to sign for the petrol - my card gave cash rebates

then when they switch to 7-11, they say under 20 dollars cant use card. so i lose out on my cash rebates.

haha, even cents count.....

Static sparked fire. If it happens, just leave the pump nozzle in the tank and get the station to turn off the fuel supply. The fire will subside. It's pulling out the nozzle in panic that will start a big fire.

they are juz paranoid :dot:

Though it's rare, but they shown it before on TVs (Accidents caught on videos, those types) and it happens. But so far observed to be mostly happened to cars. It's just like birdshit hitting you when you are on the move is rare, but sh|t happens.

Oh..so the correct thing to do is jux to leave it there while u get the station to cut off the petrol supply?

So far the documentary I've seen, teaches that. The "negative" demostrations are all due to drivers pulling out the nozzle, and you see stream of flames sputing out from the gas nozzle, and start burning whatever the flaming petroleum sprayed on. Luckily so far the pump attendants are alert enough to turn off the fuel supply. Most commonly it's the customer themselves got burnt because the fuel spilled onto their clothes when they pulled out the nozzle, and fabrics are so easily combustable.

The documentary also demostrate leaving the nozzle in the tank during a static fire, and when the fuel supply was turned off, the flame just died by itself. Reasons they give is that, it's the fumes that's burning initially, but once you pull the nozzle out, the fire spread to the petroleum. Accordingly, the tank of petroleum could not ignite due to insufficient oxygen in the gas tank.

Such cases are very rare by far, so we need not be paranoid about it, but having some simple knowledge of it is good. I still mount my bike to pump, and I do not scream at my frens when they mount on their bikes to pump

So, is it true that Shell only accept credit card payments for >$20 purchases?

Does it have to be for fuel only or can you purchase other items too to hit $20?

So troublesome since 7-11 took over. Used to be able to purchase parking coupons with credit cards, too...

Posted

Min. purchase $20 if using credit card? o_O

from wat i knw ESSO and SPC gt no such ruling.
