hi guys, i got this radiator leaking at the bottom of the cooling fin itself for the first time after I parked my bike. But after a while, it stops leaking. So I continue to ride my bike to see if there is any leaking afterwards, but surprisingly it stops leaking. I checked my coolant reservoir, the level of the coolant is still acceptable. Do anyone know why it leaks for a short period of time and stops??

arrgh...

yesterday saturday evening, at my block's carpark ( lucky / unlucky? ) my "gear lever joint" snapped! cannot ride bike now. sian. :(

hey, KR old birds...

1) ever happened to you guys before? 1st time i ever have "gear lever joint" snap! i am refering to the "thing" that joins your left foot pedal to the bike below the gear box. Now cannot enter gear leh.

2) is it a case of wear & tear ( 5 years only leh! ) or worse SABO ? Don't understand how even "metal/steel" can break so easily like that ?

3) arga arga how much to fix? some more maybe need to tow already.

arrgh...really sway man...:(

hi anyone know where i can get a kawasaki victor m? any shops that you know that sells this model? thanks! a reply would be good..

i only ever saw 2 X FR plate ( 1999 ) victor m before. 1 was grey & look very good condition. another 1 was white, very rusty condition. seldom see sg ones. but i saw many malaysian plate victor m before.

most of the victor m is probably more than 10 years old, seldom see them now. go find shops with many kawa & try your luck.

the bike i think came out before the fairing one though i may be wrong. cannot remember...

funny it is easier to find kr with side fairing taken out than the victor m which is the naked bike version of kr.

IMHO Bridgestone's BT39 is the best tyre for track use at PG.. as good as using race slicks.

KR gear shift levers are known to break at the welded base of the right angled joint... we tack weld a backing plate to the shafts for our race bikes for increased strength.

Not very happening to have the gearshift lever break on you during a race.

1) just changed to a new pair of BT39. WOW! so much better than anything i have used before. JOKE: after the change, i ask myself:- when did i become so good at cornering? :cheeky:

no more "Golden-Boy" & half-worn out pilot sporty.

2) "gear shift lever" ..."at the welded base"...etc etc. thanks for teaching me what it is all called. So now i know how to tell my mechanic to "weld a backing plate".

thanks artpark: hopefully not too expensive...especially after a recent tyre change

3) JOKE again: my HDB carpark does not look like PG race track leh. :cheeky:

i must be "lucky" it happened just before i was to park my bike. I cannot "boast" that mine broke at the race track. :cheeky:

0 experience on the track. :(

woah, must be dangerous if it happened during a race. lucky me.

THANKS ALL FOR THE HELP! now to wait for monday...

all i can say is do get well soon. walk more often. if u can last just 1 slow round your area, u should be fine.

Edit:- don't wear your slippers. wear a flat light flexible thin soled LOOSE ( not too tight ) shoes. If still very pain, wear running shoes ( but try not to rely too much on the cushioning common in thick running shoes, starting stage time can, once your back & legs are strong enough, stop as your feet muscles may weaken, not to mention it distorts your natural human stride mechanics ).

start by trying out only say just walk 3 blocks daily. progress slowly. Don't rush. take it easy. work slowly up to a simple round your area ( don't scared / impatient ) that might take you a whole year to reach that stage...judging by your jia-lat condition now & that your "circuit" actually not small leh... Don't worry you can't do it now. Take 6 months or even 1 year to do it. Baby steps by steps.

ONLY AFTER you can do that without pain...then train until you can climb 10 floors up & down ( slowly also never mind ).

Edit:- Again, do it floor by floor. eg. try 2 floors up daily & then take lift up. if feel ok, try 3 floors up. After 10 floors up, still ok...then try 10 floors up & 2 floors down & then take lift. Believe me, down may be even harder than up.

if you feel no pain after 10 up & 10 down daily, it means you are all cleared.

Edit: if you find this difficult, get someone to walk with you. Don't be discouraged. All the things i "preach" here i did it before just a few years ago ( 2008 ). i did it all ALONE. you just need will-power. i always believe "when there is a will, there is a way." don't give up! FIGHT YOUR "ENEMY" ! GO FOR IT! It doesn't even cost $ except maybe for "tap-water"?

Edit:- when you walk with pain, try to relax & ease out the pain. try to balance Your gait. learn to walk all over again, just like a baby. :p

PS: btw, bro, your "friend" quite petty hor, block me leh. girls also not so petty, right ? my NS sergeant last time cursed all my family & tekan me & my buddies all the time. at of the day, still friends & help each other in the Brunei jungle when he heatstroke...even the guys i quarrel with, i forgive & forget & still can help.

1 time at construction site, a colleague of mine called for help & ambulance when his enemy he just quarreled with the previous week got stroke. lucky the old guy's chances of recovery was helped by his most hated enemy. Even i was surprised. they made up when we went to visit the old guy in hospital. His wife & son were thankful to the "former enemy".

MAN is like that one, mah! Where got so "sio ki" ??? alamak, i also want to follow you & "retire" liao...:p

Oh ok so down engine mean over haul the engine...so that means is change all the bearing inside the engine right ??!!

Not everything inside. Those worn out parts they change. Good condition parts they keep. So depends on the shop. If they want more money, they'll change the good condition parts to brand new.

yar.saw them do alot of krr and jackpot bikes like spark etc. then which shop you do at now? my friend recommend me go gemok.

I'm current doing at Jin fong. I have many friends doing at Gemok(there's 2 gemok. They do at the one beside AK Restoran). Their review is that workmanship is good, charges standard price or slightly higher but if ure loyal to them and u go to other bike shop(even to pump tyre), they'll give u attitude the next time u go to their shop.

my is black but moulded here and there ler. like for head fairing moulded to rectangle light, side fairings covered both hole and extended to cover the stomach got single seater if you want + standard tail. yours is standard blue wif standard stickers?

Eh zam, wanna swap tailboard? Like mcm nak try 1 seater uh..

hi anyone know where i can get a kawasaki victor m? any shops that you know that sells this model? thanks! a reply would be good..

I think its the overflow tube. I heard there's an overflow tube for coolant(need confirmation). The coolant too much(especially with heat, it expands) and a small bit got overflowed. I experienced this at KL. It got me quite worried too.

But as long as you see the coolant still full then its okay.

Bro, go Garage sales under Used Bikes. There's this guy who's been trying to sell his kawasaki victor m for quite some time. Use the search function.

...

Everytime corner scrap footrest how not to break. :p

1) is it the same victor m guy that has been selling since last year? the white rusty bike i mentioned i saw was his. Lots of rust but he was selling for a VERY cheap price when considering the years of COE left. nearly bought his bike. Very cheap price but be prepared to fix a lot of things.

2) No lah, i am kia si old man that even spark / wave can out race me. :( where got corner like racer? anyway, not the foot rest but the joint below. fixed already. edit:- my bike's previous owner is probably a racer, obvious from all the racing mods he did & the flashy # & very high mileage. Probably a PG-devotee, also probably explains why my bike is so "cheap". I was already mentally prepared for all this when i took a gamble to buy it.

3) PS:- desmond, the guy who said the famous line : " Honda, unlike Yamaha ( others ), will NOT leave you stranded on the road " ( NO OFFENCE to Honda owners, i also believe Honda is reliable but that is err... Ironic that on SBF threads, many Honda riders have mentioned that they had been stranded before just like the other brands ) & who also believes previous Phantom owners are to be blamed for abusing the bike, when in my humble opinion SP / TZ / KR previous owners probably "abused" the bikes even more than Phantom ( No offence to Phantom / SP / TZ / KR owners ). I don't think 18 year old wannabe racers P-Platers ( again no offence to 18 yr old P-Platers ) buy Phantom to "modify" & "race" / "whack hard", right ? :p

eg. i supposed 12yr old SP is probably got more "abuse" than a 6 year old Phantom, at least usually most of the time. There are both good & bad Phantoms / SP / Honda / any other brand or model etc. etc. etc.

edit: btw as a sidetrack, i read somewhere before in either SBF or another forum ( forgot ), 1 lao-jiao was posting something like this: - "SP s are going cheap now. newbies should go buy SP & "whack", then upgrade to 2a / Class 2." ( that line was memorable but i forgot who said that )

any way, all under the bridge now...i am getting too old for this...going to "retire" & "relax". i often lose to McDonald Riders with Big Backpacks on wave / spark. they are often laughing at the old slow uncle "turtle" kr. very malu! LOL! :D
