Filming my ride

Hmm...I'm considering securing it to one of my rear view mirror.

Anyway...I went to take a look at microSD cards. Seen Sandisk with class 2, kingston with class 4...but I didn't see any class 6 microSD. Which brand has class 6 microSD?

How to mount strange looking objects to mirror - easy, use the right hand side mirror like nabil, with the brake fluid reservoir as a stable base.

If item is too big to cable tie, wrap a pair of cable ties on the camera then cable tie that harness onto the mirror. Just imagine how the Olympic logo fits together.

this sat I am going filming with kaylan

Due to a security breach I may not be interested in hosting the weekend shoot, and do spell my name correctly.

Class 4 good enough. Anything higher is negligible for your cam.

Loved the box-camera footage Kalyan ! :thumb:  and even if all my self-concious slash don't-be-a-nerd bones screamed at me not to say it, I couldn't help but let a "Owwwwwned" escape my lips when I saw the traffic light sequence :lol:

LOL

Someone might pop by and point a finger at my lane change from 1 to 3 - that was due to my wanting to "keep to the middle lane" and slow down after clearing the grey Lancer.

The silver car also went to the middle lane right before the junction without signaling forcing me to continue going left, going right to avoid the slow biker on the left and OH DEAR another bike in my way and brake before the junction. (Say this paragraph like Jeremy Clarkson!)

Thus moto-camera lesson 101: Things not shown on screen unknowingly draw negative criticism, and things appear way closer (and faster moving) than they really are IRL.

"Cap'n Carmen's Revenge" Day filming with Nabil and Mr Soh - 2pm - 9pm 31/7/10.

Covered lots and lots of kms (200+?) on both 2 wheels and 4 wheels, 8 hours + of footage. Those who have me on facebook can see the cute pics while I get our very own Top Gear Singapore (kopitiam edition) sorted out; Thanks Nabil, very professional participation!

My wierd DIY tuning is best used by accelerating through all the gears as fast as humanly possible. All the torque is concentrated on the low end, making for a very comfortable cruising bike. (I rarely go above 90kph but the key to me is acceleration!)

Hehe glad you like; it's my old RC camera. Need to hook it up to bike's electrical supply to continue using it (my next DIY project).

My bad reviews for LI-PO battery cameras are from this device. Keeps losing charge as you use, lol.

eh kalyan, if you don't mind, share with us how you gonna do it.

i am interested as well but i am considering the muvi veho for its extreme small size, so i can just leave it somewhere on the bike and not have to constantly remove it for charging. Just connect it to bike battery.

start up= record, engine off= recording off. auto override oldest memory.

does it work that simply though?

February 2011 - March 2012 = Phantom TA 200

March 2012 - August 2013 = Suzuki Impulse 400

Present = BMW (Bus, MRT, Walk)

12V DIY socket -> USB port -> camera

Either I make the camera accept the 5V supply or I solder connections directly on it. This radio controlled aircraft camera does have solder points for an external supply in addition to the option of USB powered. Typical German efficiency.

Here's another addition to Nabil's extensive portfolio of bike filming.

We have a van video too but it's a bike forum so.. :p

Kalyan, thanks for all the great vids.

I'd love to learn a thing or two from you about DIYing on electonics...

Nabil, keep shooting! Loving those videos.

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Do or do not; there is no 'try'.

Just a small perspective of my own, whenever you get that sudden feeling of adrenaline which makes you want speed up, or overtake aggresively, or cut someone because he cut you sharply, remember of your LOVED ones straight away, it definitely cools you down and you would ease that throttle and back out to the left lane and go easy.

Just my view when I ride :-) hope it helps. Every time I see a bike accident my heart sinks honestly! Pls pls ride safely

these roads are nice to play on, but to the new guys reading, pls relac k, dun too hiong..

i'll strongly advise to read the situation carefully, sometimes the traffic does not allow for us to "bank as we want". Eng Neo road for instance, may get muddy/ sandy due to the construction site entrance. Lim Chu Kang area also has some trucks movement so dun be surprised to find debris along the corner.. if u cant see pass the corner, S L O W D O W N.

nice plate no. :thumb:

You want to come riding with us next day? Let us know when you may be free, we could help you with the DIY mounting for the camera and we could bring you to those great roads.

The two roads you asked about are, South Buona Vista Road and Neo Tiew Road (:
