yeah, my exhaust pipe had that ling ling sound when i throttle awhile back. only happens when throttling or when reving engine right?

 

mine went away after a while. self repair.

February 2011 - March 2012 = Phantom TA 200

March 2012 - August 2013 = Suzuki Impulse 400

after some further observation, it seems like when the engine is hot enough, then the sound will surface...will do more observation to see if its the exhaust! thanks guys!

Hi guys, i'm new here. Can you guys tell me how to take out the front fender and mudguard? I want to respray it..

front fender held by 4 screws only. easy job.

 

its at the forks. look around the fender for 4 screws, 2 on left and 2 on right side.

Hmm, my bike has a weird problem nowadays.

 

When i turn the handlebar to full right, the throttle seems to automatically throttle. It gets pretty irritating when i am maneuvering the bike at very slow speeds around tight corners etc...and it seems to be stuck at a certain degree, meaning i can only throttle to 80km/hr and not more because the throttle is stuck...

 

Is it the nut holding it has jammed somehow or throttle spoil etc?

possibly throttle cable. check and see if it's caught on anything or snagging something.

A simple solution would be to increase freeplay, but not so much to the point that when you straighten it there is too much freeplay.

 

But this is only a short term solution, best is to do what CSV said and have it checked out.

yea , finally had time to go to ah chong, turned out to be throttle cable, changed it for less then $20. Thanks !

Hi guys, recently i experience a problem with my phamton, everytime when im using my rear brake to slow down, there's a sound produced. Kind of like ur stand collide with the road when u forget to kick up or like metal rubbing against metal. So I gently step on my rear brake a couple of times, den the same sound appear again. What could be e problem?

check ur brake pads.. and check properly! mine i saw wrongly.. i tot caliper problem.. end up go shop, uncle gave me -.- look! haha! my pad finished and d metal was rubbing on d disc.. causing screeching noise and ineffective braking..

Guys how much do you think it cost to fix the wiring for phantom ta200? i was able to unscrew the rear fender but ooh well the wiring is very haywire and i don't dare to take it out and respray it...

You can check it under the thread typical repairs. From my experience, it is the Oil. Should try 20w50. cheers.

a simple adjustment of the clutch cable freeplay will solve the problem, u only change the clutch plate when say u throttle while moving off the engine rpm is running very high, but ur speed is like only 60-80km/h...but of course im referring to top gears lah....lol moniter ur FC first, signs of a gone clutch is a burnt smell coming from the engine, extreme loss of FC, and u having diffculty in maintaining a given speed even ur engine rpm is constant....

 

HUAT AH!

i also like to add clutch biting point is also causing what you mean "draggin" gear.

 

happened to me when i gey kiang go and adjust, then ended up i accelerate then rpm shoot up, speed slowly move only.

 

just adjust the clutch biting point to be closer to you and it will be fine. trial and error.

MORNIN guys, i need help on this issue. I have just changed my battery two days ago n today the bike seem cant start as there us no charging. Can i know anyone have the idea what the problem is?

current bikes: NSR 250 PGM4, HRC CBR 1k & SYM GTS200

i will check the connection to the battery terminals...make sure the terminals cables are securely fixed.

 

now you have 2 issues here..

is it the battery? is it the charging system?

1..lets start with charging systemm...try push start get help..preferably hercules to help you push start..

if it can be started..then charging system ok..

or get a pair of jumpstart cables..and jumpstart..

 

2.if battery is the problem...get it charged..and confirm whether the battery can be recharged and hold the energy in it...if not get another..

where chain cleaning is history...
