20Km/L is not bad. My Ver S can't hit 400km. I don't bother I am happy with the way it rides.

Hi all,

Need your advice on my first tyre change for verS. I narrow to 2 types, battlax bt39 & dunlop arrowmax gt501. Both size 110/70 front and 140/70 rear.

So which is better one overall?

Regards

Bought a PB1 in Jan for 3500. have since spent about 1500 for rebuilding suspension, changing the magnetic coil, rectifier, battery and so on. Now the mechanic says that there is smoke coming out of my exhaust. It was very faint when he showed and since then, i have tried revving a few times but am not able to see any. When he showed me, he had just changed the spark plugs and i also had the rear tyre changed because it was punctured.

Anyone has any ideas what might be the problem? and how much this is going to cost to rectify? Thanks

NOTHING IS WRONG...don't get con. If there is,its consistance and and dense. If you like to see intentionally..can always spray some WD40 or squid some eo inside the exhaust and watch the magic..LOL I'm not saying they do that..but hell..who knows when it comes to making money!

Thank you very much for the knowledge. feel at ease now. one more thing, he charged me 450 for the magnetic coil. said it was not charging the battery, and also the rectifier. did the mechanic take me for a ride on the coil? Thanks again

Original coil price vries from $290-$320 depending on shop (their rental cost). This include installation..side block gasket and without having to change engine oil (just tilt the bike with a jack slightly). OMG...$450!?..u must be a very tatsy carrot. Not sure you include rectifier price but rectifier price is $85 (tThailand) and $125 (made in Japan..if u can find).

As for charging..did he explain and desmostrate that it is not. If you just listen and nod head obediently...you want tasty juiscy carrot I would like to sink my teeth on too..ha...x3!

Tasty I must have been! anyways, live and learn i suppose. he charged me 85 for the rectifier. he initially quoted 350 for the coil and when i mentioned that my bike was PB1, he made some calls and raised the price to 450 saying that PB1 parts are slightly more expensive. he checked the charging with a multimeter and i would not have been able to know anything even if i saw it, which i did not! Will start my search for another mechanic. Hopefully i won't need one in the near future! I did nod my head obediently though:(

When he raise the rpm between 2k to 5k rpm...after a 30 secs idling..the voltmeter should show at 13.5v dc and increase to 14.2v dc. If maxs at 13.8v dc..all is well too.
