Dudes,

Being a biker & a car owner, I find it priceless to have the lights on. FYI, I'm riding a carb Blackbird with the old switches which allows me to alternate on/off.

As a rider, I always leave it on and I see no difference in switching it off. Excuses like hot, wear & tear & other crap are all .....crap. If you're worried about wear & tear, it's part and parcel of owning a bike. It's just like saying that you want to own a vehicle MINUS the hassles which comes along with it. I keep telling my buddies who complain about petrol & tyre prices... If you can't afford petrol/tyres & whatever whatnots, then you're not prepared to own a vehicle...

As a driver, I find it priceless that bikers have their lights on. It does make them more visible, even during daytime & it allows you to anticipate their actions.

Frankly, I do not think that this discussion should be brought up in the first place. When the authorities made this mandatory, they have already thought up of the pros and cons. And definitely, the pros of leaving your headlights on outweighs the cons.....

pulsar rider, mine came with off, day, nite switch. always on day mode, cos my bikes '2 eyes' is on. nite time of course full blast, no need to say. i've passed tp few times with my '2 eyes' no problem. my theory for not switching on is during day, blast also cannot see much, plus with '2 eyes', i can hi-beam, more noticeable. if full blast hi-beam like no diff.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

headlight on no choice

if i have choice I prefer headlight off first to start engine then on headlight at all time.

reason some time i gum lum the bike for two or three days , need all the battery power to start. headlight on just consume too much power for ignation.

much as i hate to on it during the day, it's a necessasity, and safety. some drivers can be so blur kock they won't see you on their rear mirror. but if you on your lights (lights attract attention, scientifically proven), there's a high change that glimmer of light will catch his eyes.

Just the other day when I drive out from my house car park and turn right onto the road, I totally did not see this motorcyclist coming from my left until my wife told me that this rider give me a "One kind of a look" before he switch on his headlight. It was at night about 8pm, mind you.

Stupid rider, only when something like this happen to him then he consider switching on his headlight, darn... :faint:

It doesn't make any difference whether a motorcyclist has the right-of-way or not, the rider is the one most likely to get hurt.

Hi, I think you are wrong, with both headlights "on" it does make a difference to a driver in the car.

And try to switch to high beam (Day time) plus slow down when you approach traffic junction, it makes a difference to warn others that you are going through.

I rode from PIE connect into CTE going towards City, there's a WRX at the Road Shoulder, he just pop his head out of the window and signal me to on my signal light when I rode past. Phew...

I think.... on headlight or not on... makes some differnce.. BUT. If driviers dont use mirrors... we also GG..

So its better to use a LOUDER horn and ride with a CLEAR AND ALERT MIND.

There is no replacement for displacement, except for Ah Seng

care to clarify? i usually dont on my main during daytime.

there was once i high beam during a dangerous junction whereby m'sian bikes turning right tend to dont give way. then traffic light turn red and i stopped. :cheeky:

I too dun usually on my headlights in the day except for raining or dark weather.

Reason being the wear and tear part. (yaya, u guys muz be thinking "dun give me that crap")

some bike's headlight plastic cover will tend to turn blur or foggy due to the heat from the bulb. So i rather not on it during the day to minimize blurring than to always on it and finally have a blurry headlight which is more dangerous, day and night.

Juz my 2cents..
