today saw the compassionate side of sporean motorists. was at a X-junction at jurong east. there was an elderly crossing the flickering predestrian-crossing very slowly probably due to arthritis problem. even before halfway he was through the junction. the lights turned green for the opposite traffic and he was blocking the whole traffic. but glad to note that, no one rider or driver horns or move off impatiently. everyone waited for him to clear the road before moving off. :)

it was a metallic-pinkish-copperish coloured fit. rather distinct, the fella better not let me see him around. bloody f1 toaster.

I may know, where this car is ... or i should put stay. But any other things to confirm....

Today, while riding to work, coming to a traffic junction at green for my way.

There is this FIX on the right lane wanna go straight but was going to block by the vehicle which stop at the junction intension to turn right.

He signal, good, i notice it by judging the distance he is unable to speed up fast enough to move to my front even i slow down, unless i stop my bike. So i speed up a bit and start to move to the left a bit so that he will not crash or totally slow down due to the vehicle in front of him. Bl**dy hell, he turn in striaght and front bumper like less then a inch away from my right leg. I turn and look at him, he "act blur", i slow down, move to the right and move along with him close to the driver window. He turn his head and look at me like kind of "hey, think you r abit close to me" which i think about 30 cm away from him for few second, when he look at me again. I show him my big long middle finger for sec. and move up.

It really spoil my mood for the day.

I think the word "FIX" for the car mean, "they" will be "FIX" someday.

usually for this genuine case... motorist will not horn... :thumb:

if there's horning.. surely must be motorist who are queuing behind unable to see the pedestrian.

but totally hate those able pedestrians... still walking so slowly like they own the road even when it's RED light. zzz :sian:

Ture, sometime i stop at the traffic light which is red upon my way, put down my side stand, come down and remove nail and screw on the road to the side at my lane. Some of them are kind enough to wait a second more before moving off.:)

nope, don't remember anything else about it. was semi-tempted to chase the fella already, and i knew that unless he decides to go onto the grass, i'll sure catch up with him. and if he wasn't the size of at least godzilla, he might be in for a little bodily wear'n'tear if he decided to go toe to toe with me. took only a second or two to look at the car, registered only the colour, and decided he wasn't worth my time or trouble.

bbuuttttt, having said that, i'm a peaceful person. really.

if y'know the guy, ask him if he was making a right turn from queensway just past ridout @ tea garden onto commonwealth ave, between 1130-1200.

Smile! Tomorrow will be worse.

Whenever I see cars/buses/lorries coming close to my rear, I shall signal left and wave them to overtake, while going closer towards road shoulder. And then, there will slow down and remain a far distance from me, and I will wave them thank you. Trust me it works.

Singaporeans are very friendly drivers :):)

You must just be more patient and courteous when riding, ride in the center of the lane not the broken white lines, cause that would endanger yourself only.

Please heed advise riders, and lower the number of motor-bike accidents, don't try to act like a HERO!!

singaporeans friendly drivers? are you crazy? i rather be in front of a heavy vehicle rather than behind it. you can't even see the road in front when you are at the back of the heavy vehicle.

and statistics are high because 4 wheelers don't look out for us, not we don't look out for them. just take a look at the number of 4 wheels vs 4 wheels, compared to 2 wheels vs 2 wheels.

At traffic light junctions smile at the car drivers and other riders too, make your ride a more pleasant one. They would smile back too.

If cars tailgate, don't play with them by following or speeding up, just quickly move to another slower lane or wave them sorry, and let them pass you.

sorry, but i just have to say this. don't be an idiot. unless you are saying you are riding a honda c70 or road hogging the road when the whole stretch in front of you is clear.

today kena cut, by man in white. ahaha.

traffic was relatively light, was going at legal + 10 on expressway as usual, just overtook car, hadn't gained a respectable distance to switch back (don't you just hate ppl who overtake and then cut in less than 10metres away on expressways? where's the safety distance?!). saw small headlight far far behind, didn't think anyone would chiong that fast, so decided to hang around in lane1 a while more n slowly change to 2 since there was no other traffic other than the bogie in lane 2.

next thing i knew, saw a white ghost appear in my left mirror behind me when i next checked around 10secs later. didn't know whether to signal left and get outa the lane, or to stay put and let him go past. he was approaching relatively quickly, was afraid if i signal left and cut across him, might aggravate him. and if hang around in lane1, might annoy him too for blocking his way.

before i could finish considering my options, he was ahead and gone, having passed on the left. phew, at least he didn't pull me over for anything. just so, my bike's not exactly without any ornaments.

lesson learnt, always check the damned mirrors frequently! ya never know what's behind you!

Smile! Tomorrow will be worse.

@nabil15: i agree with you that most people react in a very positive way when you explicitly give way. but some will be the way they are...oh well...we can just rejoice in those who are nice :)

wa... this thread so dead for the past few days... all taking cny break ah? :cheeky:

let me liven things up...

today while riding...

met alot of bongtards in cages today, they all have one thing in common...

1) last min, suddenly wanted to turn left or right just before a major junction. in their desperate reckless attempt, forced me to either give them a good horn or swerve out of their way...

however, one cager deserve special attention and reaction from me...

this bongtard was making a u-turn along lornie rd... i was coming from the opp direction towards bishan/marymount. i tot this mofo bongtard will wait for traffic to clear before making his u-turn, but he knn just u-turn despite me closing in around 80-90kmh on my speedo, see he turn out, siao liao... braked, bike slowed down, then i (using countersteer) swerve out of his way, overtook him and played horn music with him, giving him a thumbs down sent off as i overtook him... damn bustard, did not even give a heck about oncoming traffic, just u-turn like that... wtf la...

Well, I saw recently a biker with I think is a Macdonald Doraemon thing hanging from his helmet.

Not the coolest thing to put on your head, I suppose.

Anyway, whatever floats his boat, as long as he is happy. :)

cyclist still needs to obey traffic rules.. and they should never cycle on pedestrian pavements nor cycle against traffic along road side..

the traffic light turned red for vehicles to stop maa. but the cyclist never stop, just continued to cycle on. then the pedestrian green man already flashing, this lady wanted to run across the road, but i guess she never saw the cyclist, so she bang into him, and the cyclist fell. luckily the cyclist was wearing his headgear, longsleeve and long pants.
