the speedo light bright until they duno they never switch on light

Today while riding, on the way to school, witness a near accident between a white van and a black honda. The black honda suddenly cut 1/4 into the right lane, no signal no nothing, almost knocking into the white van. I was behind the van and saw the whole thing. I thought I was going to be a witness liao.

 

Then on the KJE towards PIE Tuas, I saw 3 cars maybe 4 parked on the road shoulder, must have been an accident, because all the way very very heavy traffic until we passed them.

 

Safely in school now, writing all this down.

not exactly true.. some drivers love to take their own sweet time to change lane, even when you are driving a cager.. want to change, dun wan to change, slowly slowly..

anyw, as i watched the mech change a new set of sprocket, + the 4 bolts that hold it in place, i cant help but wonder y did it exploded at all... chain break still can unds, sprocket exploded, zZ... ...

 

 

 

ya, saw a sp doing that while there was a r1 on the opposite lane. heng the r1der had a cool head and never wheelie qiong into the sp rider face - confirm enough time to do that..

 

not every SP does that ba... maybe he in need of time blah blah blah... so far i always learn from school once green light then slowly moves off. SSDC teach me de.

i stopped doing that (chiong at traffic light) when i saw a rider kena knock down right infront of my eyes.

scary.

some cagers (riders too) like to dash right turn green arrow. if that happens and the particular rider chiong green light, even though it's his right of way, i don't wish to imagine what gonna happen.

 

today whilst riding, saw a kia picanto straddling left right outside lane back inside lane left right left right dont know how to go straight.

i want to squeeze past also i scared. stayed in my lane behind this lady until got space for me to do proper lane change.

Today evening I was in a *stressed out* mood and refused to go out of lane 3. Cos I didn't want to accidentally go out and get in the way of someone. Until there were the usual flash mob traffic jams due to vehicle breakdowns, road works, etc. So I got stuck.

 

Suddenly I noticed this Mazda RX-8 in Hougang (SJY plate if I'm not wrong) change lanes to clear the broken down lorry and slowed down so I can slot in front of him! Omg!

 

The same thing happened on the SLE where I was again stuck behind some super slow mover and the scary thing is that a GIANT malaysian lorry was right behind me and did the same "marking" maneuver for me to escape in front of him

 

Conclusion:

 

There is such thing as karma - give way to others and you notice you -always- have right of way

 

Oh and ah chong (planet motors) gave me a set of chrome grips. How sweet. They want me to get another RPM meter so they can play with my electrics

 

The morning commute was happier before the stress levels ran skyhigh thanks to Monday pre-lunch screwups at work from other people and organisations.

 

There was a J plate Proton Wira possibly filled with pervs that stared at me like they wanted to eat me and kept tailing me on the PIE. I did some "tactical movement" to gently position them between two lorries then *whacks the throttle and insert Mercedes AMG style DIY exhaust note here*. The Wira was so desperate to chase me but it got stuck hahahahahaha.

last night while riding home, saw a SDC plate pervert cagers who kept, believe it or not, THREE car length away from the front car CONSTANTLY. horn also no use, cars from back just speed in front to overtake him. and when he reached the junction, if too many cars, he will jam brake to let ALL cars cut him first.

it really depends on how you read the traffic. tell tale signs, they are driving on the edge of the lanes.

 

anticipate their next move at all times, and keep your left thumb on the horn, standing-by to tap it..

 

Yes, nowadays when I'm past by certain situation I'll keep my left thumb closely to the horn.

At times I slow down, they don't react at all haiz... I only worry they "wack" out of their lane at the last minute.

 

is sg roads really that bright that warrants the need NOT to turn on their headlights?

 

every night if i'm out on the road, confirm will see 1-2 vehicles who did not switch on their headlights.

Met a bad one today. Hais. Sucks to be P plate.

 

I was travelling to chinatown , think somewhere at havelock road, met one screwed up taxi driver.

 

I was going to turn left after the current junction, so I decided to keep at left lane first. Then I stopped at a traffic light, one a lane that indicates turn left AND straight ahead.

Then the left arrow flashed out, the main light still red. But my intent is to go straight, and I didnt on any signal light incorrectly.

 

Then this *insert long list of vulgarities* taxi uncle horn me when the arrow came out. I heck care him, since I'm not going to turn left at all. I tried drifting myself more towards the right, so those impatient idiot drivers can try to squeeze pass if they dare.

 

Then this taxi uncle open his window, shout at me "OI! GREEN ARROW LEH~! YOU CAN GO! GO! DONT BLUR LEH~!"

The tone of his voice is kinda like .. thinking I'm some ****ing noob, cuz I am P plate, and think I don't know I can left turn at the moment (which I'm intending to go straight) His tone is pretty sacastic and yaya.

 

Tell you man.. I'm so *insert vulgarities again* pissed and I just gave him some nice language and some fingers to go along.

 

Seriously, damn all these idiot drivers. I'm in no wrong to be in that lane technically speaking. Still try to mock me. Damn pissed. Too bad I was too hot headed to take note of his number plate .. But thinking of it, I still damn dulan .

my personal view is that if u had lanesplit to the white line (i.e. dun block ppl path), the uncle can turn left, and he wun horn u and talk c0ck to you, thereby making u angry and pissed off.

 

1 simple action, 2 person happy. the happy day continues..

 

even when i was learning to drive, my instructor taught me not to use straight/ turn lanes unless really necessary, like jam..

Agree with Jackohjack. Personally when on a straight cum left turn lane with green left arrow on, i try to make way for left turning vehicles behind me if i'm not turning.

 

But Shumpo need not take the abuse the taxi driver dished out either. The driver was just asking for it.

I'm not going to be a courteous rider anymore man .. doesnt bring me anywhere, only get bullied and mocked at.

 

The reason why I try to be extra courteous to other motorists during rush hour commutes to and from work is because (most of) everyone in Singapore is very rude to me

 

Revenge is never about fighting fire with fire. Use water instead, or better, CO2

Puns aside the only way to bring out more courtesy onto the road is to demonstrate by example. Give way / wave enough to people and suddenly you realise people giving way to YOU.

 

Definitely @Shunpo is not trying to bring down the reputation of motorcyclists being rude people - he has the right to be pissed, faced with the situation and from his individual perspective. Anger is his right.

 

However, we all started from being P-plates once and only experience will let us eventually avoid such unsavoury encounters.

Primary thing is that walk away fine...

 

Although you suffered an unjust attack, may I just caution that like ^^ said, fighting fire with fire will not work, for 2 reasons,

 

1) We always lose. If car cut you you want to rush ahead and cut car back, it brings danger to you

2) With no.1 , are we really losing? Not in my honest opinion, we live to ride another day.

 

Head fakes! =)

 

Hope you feel better soon, don't let other people influence the way you can enjoy and experience your ride =)

 

Oh a second thought:

If next time this happens, turn around and yell, "Uncle go straight or turn right, drive how long liao? Don't blur leh." And do it with a smile =)

For me, in such situation, if i can move outta way to the lane on my right. I will do so. I also feel paisay to be in that lane and block the traffic with my bike. Unless there is a car sharing the same lane with me, then bor pian
