Today I drove to work and was on PIE toward Changi airport. I saw a guy in full protective gear and FF helmet riding a SG plate sport bike. However, he was riding with just one hand. What an idiot! I thought only those JB plate bikers do such silly stunt.

What's wrong with riding with one hand/arm?

Unless he was texting/SMSing with his other hand... there's nothing wrong with using one arm to lean on the tank or to relax. Sometimes, leaning over gets tiring for your back/arms.

Hi thepole,

understand that sg roads are not design for 140km/hr but i dont agree with you with your phrase "further more on a 2B bike"

No, nothing wrong with that. Please continue to do so if you have such habbit.

i dont see any idiot signs for wearing full protective gears riding with one hand. if riding with one hand makes the rider idiot posture, make sure you, yourself dont scratching or rubbing your eyes etc.. while you are riding... because you will be the same the kind of rider which you name 'idiot' posture too.

i think he means 2b bikes going at such speeds is dangerous for both the rider and other road users. some more the bike is so light, it will feel like lifting off at such speeds liao. no need to get to cranky over dat post.

u need to be young and reckless to become old and wise..... if u survive

Actually some sports bike's riding posture can be quite tiring when riding for long distances.

Especially Race Replicas (RR) whose sitting position stretches the body forward like pumping position. :btw:

Last year when riding my "xiao lao pao" a sleek, sexy japanese, Miss Suzuki Gsxr400RR :lovestruck: to Kuala Lumpur and back within 24hrs, I got tired on the NSHW too and rested my left elbow on the tank; on and off to take the tension off the wrist. :cheeky:

The guy you saw deck in full riding gear, riding one arm probably went to track in Malaysia, and after riding whole day in the racing position he is probably tired and rode 1 arm to rest his joints. Not really idiot or arrogant rider, just 1 very tired and worn out rider on the road. :dozed:

140km/h ... on your meter ? +\- the error of the meter, i think you're only going 120km/h. OPPS !!! sorry to dissapoint you ! lol !

pray hard there aint no "ghosts" hiding . my friend got revoked for speeding on ECP. which stretch, i'm not sure. but surely somewhere near the end. goodluck !

i think .. i really really think, the government should RECONSIDER allowing for foreign conversion of LICENSES. coz most ang mohs drive like it's their godarn expressway here. swerving here and there without DUE CARE for drivers AND riders.

who thinks that the slogan "drive safe for your loved ones" should be changed to "drive COURTEOUSly for other road users" ? i know i do.

Ok, story time!

Today while riding.... actually started this morning while waking up.

Saw my laptop kena virus.... :(

Don't know got from which website, probably got it when searching for mythbusters series to watch online. Remembered one of the sites got pop ups one.

So... today while riding to repair my laptop (successful, otherwise you won't be reading this) the sky very dark, don't know whether to go or not, but at 12:30pm, after a very very light drizzle, don't care liao, just go!

Weather was great for riding, cool wind blowing and almost no sun, like evening time like that, but good visibilty and no dark storm clouds!

Traffic was clear, which was expected, until in NIE, got 1 lorry at the construction site slowly slowly turned out, then stopped when making a right turn. I already expected the indian driver to do something like that when he started edging out, because he wasn't looking at my direction when coming out of the construction site's concealled exit, so I braked early, luckily I did, because the road I was on was a curve on a downslope. The driver still can turn and wave and smile at me when he saw me slowing down dramatrically before he moved off.... and it's not the apology type of wave but a happy celebration type of wave. Don't know what he thinking.... also don't know why he stopped in the middle of the road when both side were cleared until I came along. :sian:

Then after handing over my laptop to the technician, I went to buy shoes at E-mart in Chervon.

1x pair of Red New Balance for the Chinese New Year! Yay! :cheer:

FREE! Using reservist credits! Double Yay!

Then I headed over to IMM to have lunch. Lunch was extra hungry because it was 2pm already! :hungry:

Had a "Do you love me(at)" meal at Subway and had a nice comfortable sofa seat next to a 'chio bu' playing with her ice cubes. :shy:

After that I got a call from the techcian to collect my laptop, quickly packed up my Subway double chocolate chip cookies and I went back to my bike.

Exited IMM carpark. Parking fee= $0.00 Also FREE! Triple Yay!

But on the way back was super dramatric!

Went out from IMM but went wrong way! Looked for a U-turn at Bukit Batok exit, but there was a slight jam, because of an accident! After crawling out to the front.... WAH! Got a truck overturned! Glass and other debris all over the junction of the expressway! I wanted to U-turn, but the policeman signed me to keep left, KNN don't care, this junction can U-turn one! After passing him, I U-turned and went to KJE/PIE.... .... but missed the KJE exit! :slapforehead: Wah Lao!!!! Really not use to travelling from this direction! And the HP in my pocket kept ringing.... :(

Now no time liao lah! Full throttle and squeeze between lorries all the way!!! U-Turn at Choa Chu Kang exit and back to NIE, when I arrived the technician already knock off and was coming out of the lift liao. But luckily he saw me and we went back together to get the laptop. Heng ah! 1 more min later and I will miss the lift, and that will mean miss meeting him and I will have to come back the next day. Phew!

Then on the way home, the ride back was pretty enjoyable, cool wind blowing on me at full throttle. But I think too used to it liao, also full throttle all the way home!

It was a good thing I did, because it started to rain at Yishun when I got back, I just made it to the motorcycle parking lot as it rainned and I quickly grabbed my laptop, Subway's double chocolate cookies, New shoes  and wet helmet and ran under the void deck! Success!
