The EO require for a EO change will be lessen than EO change + oil filter change right?

I remember r6 06 onwards, the EO required wasn't much. Maybe like 230ml or so...

I will update again once i change it at HKL.

I used 2.5l~2.6L very every oil change with filter replacement.

1. Dipstick level at cold is 1/2~3/4.

2. Dipstick level at warmed up with engine killed for 15mins of is 1/4~1/2.

So far works well for me.

1. no excess EO overspill in airbox at harsh rpms.

2. can use 5 bottles for 2 EO change

3. No red light warning for low EO vol/press.

Not sure abt the litre w/o an filter change though. :cheeky:

Thank You.

W/o oil filter shld be 2.4L

I know. That is spec'ed. We have experienced dirty airbox due to too much EO (VFR, 2003-R6, 2000-R1). Hence, now for every unknown bike I own, the oil level was attained this way.

1. fill to the minimum

2. ride as per normal & as harsh as possible

3. we do visual check on

a) EO warning light - to ensure it EO meets minimum sufficiency

b) Air box element & air box surroundings (above air element) - to ensure no excess. This is done once in 2 weeks

Once i am able to make sure item.03 above is fine, I stick to the volume with the data I collect.

Its time consuming, but its pretty reasonable for me :cheeky:

IMHO, insufficient EO is a BIG issue, but can be topped up easily. Too much EO is not necessarily an issue when boiled to individual preference. The excess will exit via breather tube (there is no overflow pipe like petrol wor:cheeky: ). Apart from going through the above hassle, the next alternative of reducing the EO level/vol is sucking out with a pump. By then, my airbox already dirty.

The above is based on my DIY findings. Might or might not apply to all. Of course if the the recommended EO sees no issues, I'll go ahead with it anytime man! :thumb:

Thank You.
