thanks..

its juz it's so confusing now.. i've always wanted a kr.. and my bloody know it all cousin is like askin me to get a bloody wave which im really not keen on.. and now that i kinda told him that my mind is set.. he's like giving me sh*t abt not getting from pte seller lah.. kick start hard lah.. 2 stroke sucks lah.. tsk tsk!!! it juz gets on my nerves!! so can u guys help me pls?? shall i get from shop or pte seller?? coz wat he tole me kinda make sense to me...

this is wat he said' pte seller wanna make money.. but with COI, the shop also wanna make money..' got 2 parties.. but if i get straight away from shop.. no pte seller involve.. wats ur take on this??

i think u already know what u want and like what firespitter said, it's not who or where u got the bike but the BIKE itself. dun be influenced by your cousin cos it's not him who's riding the bike. i was influenced to get the tuono and though i love the look of the bike but handling wise, kips fair way better. ride wave? keke unless u dun wan to upgrade and esp for newbie i find that we need to be more efficient in clutch & handling of a 'regular' bike. wave no clutch and the gear shifting is diff but this can be modified to the regular shifting though. suggest u go ard 'shopping' w others, ask abt prices and find out more first b4 u zoom in on where u wanna get the bike, kips a dime n a dozen ard so take ur time. gd luck for ur hunt

No matter how you mod, it will still be a 150cc sportsbike unless you're talking about illegal mods. But for 'clever' mods, you can ask FireSpitter, our resident KRR guru. :D

Dude, get your brakes & tires done first, and power later. The power from this bike ain't really fantastic but then again, it's fast enough to screw you up big time if you ain't up to it.

"Clever" for me means throwing away the IRC tires BEFORE you even getting the bike out of the shop!!

hmmm... wad are the illigeal mods u toking about? wad are the stuffs? i dun mind clearing my pipes and stomach... and changing airbox to air firter... but i wanna know if there are other mods... like got ppl change to inverted fork or krr150? can fix anything into the engine to make it more powerful? can change to other stomach model? got more "branded" or better pipe? :D .... haha...

i wan to mod cos i feel like going to the tracks... i know the skill itself is important but the speed and performance is important too.. cos i dun wanna be pull back at straight roads....... and i also dun wanna speed in singapore.. i feel tat it is stupid to speed in singapore... speeding in singapore is like tearing ur liscence... so i rather go speed at track and if possible join some racing competition... and i will ride slowly in singapore...

if ppl wanna race wif me.. ask them race in the track lo.... :D haha...

so anyone here can tell me the mods and the price? :D cheers..

I still find it amusing that you want to mod a 2B bike. As for the straights, a class 2 bike will makan you with only gear 1 and maybe 2. Tong pipe and change air filter will only increase minimal performance. IMHO, I am just confused, why bother to mod a 2B bike so much whereas with a bigger bike, you can even bring it to the track stock.

As for the parts and price, I'm not into this. Perhaps you want to change your tyres and brake lines/pads first. Hope you find your stuff. :thumb:

r u able to handle yr bike well in stock conditions ? If you can't. just forget about modding.

Go track is not about "pulling in the straights". Its how u tackle the corners.

I sugguest you just go to the track with a stock bike. If you can handle it well, then its time to mod it.

   Well said!

By the way, remember that power is secondary at any track, there are more turns to tackle and usually only 1 or 2 straights. I know the answers we are giving are not what you've been wanting to hear but we do it differently here. We'd rather you go "slower" but safer rather than kill yourself the first chance you get.

I can provide the answers you are looking for but first answer these questions:-

(1) What tires are you running now and what are the tire pressures (Cold)?

(2) What brake pads are you using? What brake hoses are you using?

(3) If you have gone to Pasir Gudang before on your current KRR, what is your consistant lap timing? Is there any particular bend(s)/corner(s), you are still struggling to find a better line? What's your corner speed at turn 2 and what does your chassis feedback to you at that speed/corner?

(4) What is your front fork current configuration?

A well setup bike IS ALWAYS better than a faster engined one that is not.

ok.... actually i feel tat i can handel my bike well enough. i didn't wan to say it out cos it is kinda show off.... so u guys get it? can i imagine at the start i say tat i can handel my bike very very well and i need a faster bike. and the mod bike is nothing to me now.. right? its like kinda show off... so i rather just ask wad to mod... my whole bike is now stock... the bike is quite powerful but just the top can only go till 140km/hr.. so guys...

Eh fiak? Is 140km/hr on your speedometer or clocked by someone else? You should be able to easily hit at least 180km/hr on your speedometer on a stock KRR.

since u guys are talking abt speed, got a ques to ask. my bike can't it more than 120km/h. y??(i'm currently using an air filter. anything to do with this???)

and WINZ, they are right. speed isn't everything. its best u juz wait till 2a. no pt mod KRR till so fast then upgrade it later. juz a waste of money. like firespitter said, upgrade wat is important first. brakes and wheels.

Juz a tot.

See earlier posts and questions. HAVE YOU BEEN TO PG YET? If not, I would suggest taking a trip there and rediscover yourself that you aren't really as skillful or dare say in future that "i feel tat i can handel my bike well enough", unless you are running below 2 minutes. If you really do, you have my unreserved apologies.

Since there was no mention of you upgrading your brakes, please do so. HEL brake hoses cost about $80, EBC HH Sintered pads cost $45.

You may try PM Firespitter about some factory race kit parts. He has quite a fair bit but he's selective who he sells them to.

(1) I don't laugh at the ignorant. I do at those who defend it.

(2) You have proven the ability to bullshit. Now prove you're able to stop.

digging ya own grave

Only 120km/h? Two choices.... send it to a mech to check it out or bring out the hammer!! The air filter is there for a good reason, stay boy stay!!

By the way, I disagree why mods should be avoided on small bikes or whatever. We do not stick with a bike/car for 20, 30 years. Big bike, small bike eventually we'll still change it. Upgrading it may make it a more pleasant, or safer "ownership term".

Tom69 - If it kills your curiousity, I sold my ZX6R because the front setup was horrible. Spending money on a set of new triple clamps and a new pair of aftermarket forks would have cost me a KRR or more, so what do you think I did? I was glad to have gone downwards. I have been going too fast on the straights (Matching the very fast boys) but lack the skill to match the last backmarker in a novice race at the under 10yr old category. Moving to a much slower bike has been fruitful as I am now concentrating more on technique than speed.

well money makes the world go round

gotta admit that biking is an expensive hobby :sian:

2 stock bikes but 1 with proper set-up suspension will definately have better

timings over the other in track though based on same rider gunning it :lovestruck:

ps: i driven honda accord 20yrs old before so really appreciate good

suspension

For my bike if I don't ride for more than 3-4 days and I leave the fuel switch ON, bloody hard to start. If I put it to OFF, need to wait awhile for the petrol to flow down then I can start. So when I know that I am going to use my bike the next day, I just leave it at ON/RES for easy start next day. All confirm use choke.

My bike 9 months old liao. Maybe you should wash your bike, it's upset you never wash. :cheeky:

A question, it wouldn't harm the bike if I whack every ride right? Like race the rpm just before redline in gear 1 once every journey.
