Over pampering it can "spoil" the bike too. Try threatening it with your fuel hose removed from the carburettor end, turn your fuel tap to ON, and holding a lighter.... It may just wake up. If not, then burn away!!!! No bike, no more starting problems!!

On a more serious note, you may wanna try something I used to use on my "more difficult to startup" bikes. Before you turn your key to ON, give it a few kicks. Then turn it to ON, then one final kick. Sure starts first time for me. If it doesn't work, you can revert to the first suggestion above.

how to diy balance the rear wheel??

how come the chain need such frequent tightening??? like once a week.... if not got alot of sound...

when do u know when your chain is going to give way?

wheel balancing i suppose u need the proper equipment to do it...

and u will need to get those weights that u can add to the rims to balance it

when yr chain require adjusting once in a week...i guess u r better off changing a new chain together w/ sprockets set

normally when u adjust the chain until it reaches the end of the marking on the rear part of the swingarm then it's time for new chain

A question, it wouldn't harm the bike if I whack every ride right? Like race the rpm just before redline in gear 1 once every journey.

much as KRR is a sportsbike....

i would reckon it's not advisable to do that unless u have a fat wallet :cheeky:

its quite hard to explain the steps on how to tighten chain if u havent actually seen it being demostrated to u before...

i suggest that u bring the bike to the motordiam near keat hong camp to do the chain tightening...pay them the $2 or so (yes! they do charge for doing minor stuff like this...)

while the mechanic is doing the stuff....u try to memorise the steps...hee

tools that i use when i tighten chain:

1. size 22 spanner

2. plier

3. size 10 and 12 combination spanner in standard toolskit

4. some waste newspaper to cover yr finger when u test the tension of the chain (as some of the yucky stuff on the chain will stick onto yr finger directly if u dont use newspaper or some other medium)

anyway to see whether yr chain needs tightening or not...u need to perform step 4. if the movement of the chain greater than 2inches..i guess its time to tighten~ :goodluck:

Use PJ1 Blue Label lor, can get from LAB. Just remember to use newspaper and cover the rim/tyre before spraying.

I used to apply chain wax but it makes my chain dirty and sticky, so I decided to put engine oil on my chain using a toothbrush. Ride for 1 week, the rims confirm will be very dirty. Go wash your bike after that then apply the chain lube.

For a good bike wash, you can go to the Shell station nearest to Singapore Badminton (Or Bed-Minton since it's so near Geylang) Hall. I have had my washes there all the time and they wash it quite thoroughly.

Why not?

whack the bike hard constantly = more maintenance/replacement of parts required = require fat wallet which i dont have

so pple like me can only afford to whack sparingly~ :cheeky:

$8. They operate at night too. By the way, I have not heard from you at all. Could you feedback to me (VIA PM) your current status?
