There are many factors involved in the price of an insurance cover - what party it is (first/third), age, NCD, type of bike.... There is no such thing as weird. Just change insurance companies if you feel its overpriced.

hmm i check with asphoon if i take super 4 spec 3 my issurance axa fire n theft its about 670 then yesterday i go loo's motor same spec 3 axa fire n theft but 900 plus when i ask loo's to show the insurance list the sales man say no need to see the list lah i been selling bikes for years so i know whats the rate for insurance for your age

Yes, it's normal. The fan is activated by a temperature sensor and will come on when temperatures reach a certain level, whether or not the bike is moving or at a standstill. Sometimes the temperature is "just nice" when you are moving because the wind/air blowing through the radiator is sufficient to cool the coolant. When the bike comes to a standstill, there isn't much wind/air blowing through the radiator. So, the fan will be turned on.

BTW, it doesn't matter if you are riding a Revo, Spec 1-3 or a car. That's the way radiator fans work in general.

Thanks for the info ramsnake.

Dear fellow riders,

This is an appeal to look out for my Black super 4 revo FBE4488A. It was stolen (No Joke) from my HDB carpark at Blk 137 Lorong Ah Soo yesterday between 1600 to 2300. If seen on the road, do not hesitate to contact the police, or myself at 96949226. Your help is greatly appreciated!

Cheers

As Revo is equipped with HISS technology, the bike wun be able to start without the right key with the right code, did you forget to take out your key and leave it with the bike? if not most likely is someone who might have the key (i.e previous owner if you are not the first) or bike shop if you forget to pay ur installments for some time.... if all of the above do not apply to ur case, the bugger could have spoil ur bike's HISS and use a duplicate key without the code

Pls help me solve my problem.

For a very long time now my spec2 has been "burning" my leg with the hot air it is emitting from the fan. i don't know how it started but i have tried cleaning carburetor and even installing a bypass switch to control the fan before it becomes too hot. But nothing is helping.

There was one i rode in KPE and the temp got so high that the coolant got drained out to the last bit. Was quite scary as it had the sizzling sound and all.

Everytime i change my spark plug, one of the plug will have VERY BLACK carbon on it. initially it was the no.1 plug and recently after cleaning and tuning my carburetor, it happened to the no.3 plug.

My bike is not smooth anymore. Feels like a 2B bike now. Sometimes i have to throttle alot to get the bike moving. It feels like it has no power but because i throttle so much, suddenly it will speed off.

When i start the bike in the morning, it has the "clang clang clang" knocking sound but it only sounds like that when it is in neutral gear. It will go off after kicking down to the 1st gear. Mechanic says that the gasket housing is loose and that its ok and normal. OK?? NORMAL?? the feel is gone man.

PLEASE SUPERFOUR friends. Help me save my sick bike.

1) why is my bike overheating?

2) Why only 1 of the spark plug is so badly covered in carbon?

3) Why is there the "clang clang" sound in neutral gear?

4) Why sometimes i have to throttle alot to get the bike moving?

Please dun tell me to sell my bike. Cos i love it too much to let go. I just want to cure it.

After trying all the methods, finally mechanic says maybe the coil got problem and has to change all 4 of it to see if the problem can be solved. He says he will find for me a 2nd hand one. I havent commit and would like to hear your view guys.

There is a thread for FAQs about the Revo. It is quite comprehensive and you will find most of your questions answered. If you have any other questions, do post at the dedicated Revo thread.

Be wary of the source of information for your bike's maintenance. Some FAQs are compiled by people who lack the technical know how.

That is not normal. Your coolant is boiling. I recommend you contact AhPek from the non-vtec section regarding you issues. He can help you pinpoint some problems. You go directly to shop sure get carrot chop.

for cooling part,

is the pump working? (pump shall circulate coolant around the engine)

Any visible leakage?

Did you top up/check coolant?

Clog in coolant channel?

Thermostat working? (once temperature too high, thermostat open and channel coolant to radiator)

Clog in radiator?

Hi bro,

Nope, so far no visible leakage.

Yes have topped up coolant due to its drainage when it was heated up.

Not sure if there is a clog in coolant. How to check?

i suspect its the thermostat too. Did some research on the net on similar issue and they say it might be the thermostat. how do i get it checked?

Not sure if there is a clog in the radiator too..

Now that gives me a whole new solution to try out. Thanks bro.

Is there any recommendations bro? shop or person to look for who does not chop..

Not sure if there is a clog in coolant. How to check?

(As I go through the service manual, there's path within the engine where the coolant flow. If there's clog the flow rate would be affected, one way I can think of forcing coolant in the opening and check how's the flow when the coolant exit from the path. The same thing might happen to the water hose as well)

i suspect its the thermostat too. Did some research on the net on similar issue and they say it might be the thermostat. how do i get it checked?

(As per manual, you can test the condition of the thermostat via boiling, it but you have to suspend the thermostat & thermometer not leaving it on the pan as it would falsify the reading. Thermostat react to certain temperatures, once operating temperature reach the valve would open, allowing coolant to flow. *I can't provide temperature details as the manual refer to other make of bike, but for your reference Thermostat begin to open around 80-84 degree celcius & fully open at 95 degress celcius. Valve lift, 8mm at its minimum. There's possibility that thermostat stuck closed, which mean valve not able to open during operating temperature OR thermostat remain open under room temperature.)

Not sure if there is a clog in the radiator too..

(You can disconnect all the hose connected on the radiator, try feeding the radiator with coolant at one opening. Check the flow of the coolant, if its dripping or interrupted flow. Check if there's leakage from the radiator while feeding coolant.)

Added info : Replace the radiator cap if it does not hold pressure, or if relief pressure is too high or too low.

Hopefully it helps.
