actually you should ride a 2b bike first and gain road experiences. With their power limitation, you are in better position to learn to adapt to road traffic condition accordingly. If you go for class 2A bike straight, also can. Just need to go slow first. Dont pull throttle and start weaving in and out of the traffic. With that power on hand, one can go nuts.

i'll have to go with ohayo if you're asking for opinions. reason is simple, you definitely need the road experience. and what better way to gain that experience then on an economical, problem free class 2B motorcycle.

You really don't wanna be crashing your 2A bike because of your inexperience. they cost alot more to repair or even maintain. almost everything from engine oil to your road tax will double up.

So dude, take your time and experience the road first before you get your dream ride. :)

For some, there's therapy. The rest, they have Motorcycles.

the 1 year of experience matters alot. Enough to show you the world's lousiest driver and the world's most punk rider. So most people will advise you to at least get a cheap 2B bike for experience ba. =)

actually it depends on u. when i got the money to buy a bike, i already got a 2A. so i was thinking, whether to get a S4 or rxz for road riding appreciation. in the end, i got a S4 that lasted me for 3 years.

b it a 2B bike or 2A bike, u still can gain road experience. but one have to be mindful of wat they r riding. 2B bike, cheaper maintenance, cheaper parts, power n brake abilities limited, weight is light to push ard but unstable to ride at a higher speed. 2A bike, higher maintenance, higher price for parts, power n brake r adequetly equiped, bike is heavy, bike will b stable when riding at a higher speed.

to b able to ride n handle the bike in the centre dun mean u can ride the bike well out of the centre. again, u must know wat u r riding. it is a machine that is heavy? produce more power? better brakes?

for my 3 years of ownership, of cos, i did experience accident due to misjudgement, skidded in carpark due to slippery surface, bike drop due to improper technique of pushing the bike n alot more.

so, its up to TS whether to get a 2B or 2A bike.

I did have a scooter during the 2B 1 year period but I seldom rode it, so as good as not having the bike. However I do have driving experience so that may count. For me I'd rather wait until 2A before riding on the roads because I really felt very unsafe on the 2B scooter. It is really up to you.

If u r keen to ride a bigger class..i would reccomand you to @ least practically ride on the "real" road first...then u can really see the kind souls and devil of the roads...buy a 2nd hand easy to maintain bike..and after u got your 2 A,then upgrade .

hayy, it really depends on you whether you wanna do that or not. For me, if i had done that, i think it would be okay, but i dont think i would be as good after i rode a 2b bike first. It really depends on you. If you dont really need a bike now, then why not just go ride your 2A bike straight. Just wait another 6 months plus lor.

let's just say if i had money and didnt really need a bike now and dont wanna ride a 2B bike, i would have got my 2A and then get a 2A bike.

possible if you go for a kawasaki 250 ninja rather than an rs250... for instance.

but it's your choice la. in other countries people do start on 600cc bikes

i would chime in to say there is virtually no financial hit in getting a 2b bike for 6-9 months and then selling it off when you get your 2a bike. there are enough options out there that are really cheap and will save you $ from taking taxi and all. plus you get to ride! it sounds like it will be quite an effort to not ride for 6 months based on what you wrote. i'd say go find a cheap 2b bike. there are bikes going for $300 only and i think they are worth getting, even just to use for a year and then scrap.

of course, there are many reasons why some people don't do this. safety concerns, image concerns, financial concerns. they are all valid reasons. but if you feel that a 2b bike can be safe on the road, if you are not worried about what others might say (if you have "friends" who are like that), if you can afford to spend the $300-$500 (plus insurance) on a bike, then why not?

Get a cheap 2b bike with low maintenance costs..Get familiar with SG roads..Get used to reckless drivers and riders..But most importantly get used to taxi drivers..But we can only advise..You're the one makin the decision..Your $$ your life..Do what you deem fit..

a) Buy a 2B bike and play around with it for about 6mths..

b) Hold on to the bike

c) Get Class 2A and subsequently Class 2

d) Buy a Ducati

All hail Ducati!

if u've love to own big bikes in future. u should get a 2B bike as transport.

many ppl actually skip 2A bike....

straight away get a class 2 bike for touring or circuit purpose or weekend rides

keeping the 2B for transport only.

2b bikes are cute in their own way too... i love my 2b bike cause it's small, light, convenient and economical

who knows you may end up retaining your 2b bike along with your 2a/class 2 bike too :)

i love my 2b bike because i can trash it anyway i want and still easy and cheap to repair.

too bad not enough budget to keep two bikes.

yeah u can go straight to 2a,

just because a bike is 2b doesnt f***ing mean it is safer than a 2a bike.

just remember that bikes are easy to fall and can injure and kill the rider.

true true... 2a and above bikes are way more stable at high speed and more pick up to dodge kuku cars

i would suggest riding a 2b bike first. because it's for your safety also. 2a the power so much and so fast compared to 2b. must get used to it la. see how you want it lor.

Similar to jumping from 2b to cls 2 bike... Difference in power can be overwhelming...
