Seems like the VFR is going towards the direction of overweight and oversized engines on wheels.

They seem to have forgotten why previous generations of VFRs are so popular as they are potent track bikes, and comfortable sports tourers in one eye-catching package.

No more. The age of the over-fed and over-dressed has arrived. :giddy:

Good headsup info:thumb:

Need detailed and unbiased test ride review to tell.

I rode before the VFR800 (and Blackbird as well) and personally, I would like it even better if:

- Greater low-end torque and greater mid-range => Needs min 1,000cc for sports touring.

- Rider comfort and wind protection is too slanted towards sports than touring.

- Shaft drive

So far, I like the on-paper bits of the VFR1200

- 1,200cc.

I see the VFR1200 as not a merging of VFR800 and STX, but more of VFR and Blackbird.

- Remembering the make the 1,200 behave and sound like a true V, instead of a 1,200 inline.

- Linked CBS and ABS.

Love this on the STX.

- More emphasis on rider comfort. Eg: separate vents for engine cooling and rider.

- Shaft drive.

Not so keen on:

- paddle/auto-shifting.

- The 260kg weight will be surely be hidden once the bike gets going. But manual parking will need a little more effort.

- the computer wizardry stuff is nice but better not come at the expense of glitches, bugs and reliability.

Disappointing to me.

When i saw the spy shots of the bike 1-2 months ago, I was thinking "oh no..this is the new VFR? looks awful".

267kg...rather pigged out. But its a jump to 1200cc though.

Individual opinions, but I still like the old VFR800 outlook.

Life is not the amount of breath u take, but the moments that take ur breath away.

It is not how hard you fall, its how fast you get up.

the front looks big, i dun like single headlight and the tail looks small.. a bit inapproportionate..

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

The cooling vents - FJR has it already

Fly by wire - R6 done it yrs ago

Auto transmission with peddle shifting mode / regular and sporty version - what, a ******* of FJR, GSX1000 and scooter?

Worse - looks like a beemer from the side

It may be equipped with the latest technology and gadgets but has lost its personality. Trying to be everything but end up being nothin.

The thing I like about this bike - it may bring down the price of its predecessors.

PS: informed from YT that there's something hiding under that seat.

Biting on the fray of my hair, I muse upon the way to find the oasis of evermore beyond the vertical horizon, I shall join the windupdeads in owl city, neither my safetysuit nor my red jumpsuit apparatus can save me, cuz I mistook a death cab for cutie in plain white T's...
