juz to ask

for version S, the sproket size is front 15 rear 42 or front 15 rear 44?

I wld go for the front 15 n rear 42 if i were u...but tt time got only rear 45 at ah chong so bo pian have to change to 45....theoretically higher a bit of top speed but at abit slower pick up i tink...

I ride at 70km/hr only...please please dont blow2 at me or overtake me dangerously....wait i change into Incredible Hulk n dont know why my little baby bike will always be ahead of u if u do that

yan..

theoretically, i think it's the other way round..

bigger rear sprocket +pick up -top speed

i am 19,my insurance is abt $900+,3rd party wit fire & theft

yikes...that looks expensive man...scary man....for me enuff to buy a 2nd hand bike

I saw a great looking version S at a shop and am planning to get it next week.

Its already 10 years old, so i'd like to ask those owning version S, what should I look out for/check/common faults before buying.

And besides the Vtec technology n fuel consumption, is there really any difference between vtec n non-vtec models? e.g tank capacity, length of bike

Thanks in advance. :)

check out e buying 2nd hand bike buying guide list...i wld suggest u follow it e list n check out n inspect at least 10 bikes so u can compare...pb1 n version s's engine is a bit quiet compared to vtec models but when u hear around 10 bikes....u can hear some the engine noise r quiet loud compared to others.....look out for crash damage n aligment....for pb1 i ever filled up to 19.3 litres though

bro.. do you think ver s (10yr old bike) can go long distance? e.g N-S highway without falling apart?

and is this engine block leaking a common problem with ver s?

of coz can go long dist...

hey guys. my versionS giving me 260-280km b4 reserve is it normal ?

i believe not normal....previously my bike can only go 320-340km b4 reserve if i ride hard..n i tot tt was normal .but after changing e carb pins n wash carb n retune...it sound sweeter n now can go between 340 n 380 even if i ride hard...but cant beat 1 of our forumers here who can ride up to 400 b4 reserve sey

I ride at 70km/hr only...please please dont blow2 at me or overtake me dangerously....wait i change into Incredible Hulk n dont know why my little baby bike will always be ahead of u if u do that

u got me thinkin ....but i do remembered to increase so call top speed at a loss of pick up...u either increase e front by 1 teeth....or decrease e back by 3 teeth

coz u calculate e sprocket ratio..back/front.....e lower e sprocket ratio...e higher e so call top speed n crusing speed n vice versa..

let say 45/15=3 so so call to increase speed u either

increase front by 1 teeth

45/16=2.81

or decrease e rear by 3

42/15=2.8

both still e same rough ratio...but wat u tink ah?...ko ni tak de kerja buat aku terbuat calculations eh...very clever lah u

correct correct

-1 teeth at the front.. is equivalent to +3 at the rear

+1 teeth at the front.. is equivalent to -3 at the rear

your calculation is now correct my brother..

so bigger rear sprockets = +pickup and not +topend

just wanna disturb u.. spot spot.. hehehehe..

i hereby present u the nobel prize..

Base on what you mentioned... it look like a major overhaul. But why you wan to do the overhaul? Is it giving you lot of problems already? Wish your bike a speedy recovery :)

e top block was leaking (EO leak) & furthermore tis ver R is > 10yrs.1995 MAKE.

so wear n tear do occurs.might as well invest one time , use e bike till COE expire again n then sell off to my biker friend in KL or maybe Bangladesh.

Erm... i tink the fuel guage is not accurate at all. Its using that kind of ball float thingy inside... That means u tilt the bike to the right the fuel guage goes up, and as the bike gets older its not as accurate already, last time when i just got the bike, after travelling 150km from full tank, its showing reserve already. For tires... my personal opinion will be sportec M3, my friends are using it and i tink its quite lasting, get the 120 front and 150 rear... not bad, considering its at the range of $300 with very good grip and long lasting..
