How about Kymco Like 200i. Looks like a vespa minus the price tag;). I am seriously considering that scooter. Higher than a Fino, but if you are tall, should be no problem. I am a lady rider and I ride wearing skirt sometimes. I make sure I wear leggings, though. It helps. Hope you find your comfortable ride.

A good example, actually pants itself can't provide much protection... I worn a jean had a skid, the bruise was bad that's why I'm kind of worry for those who wear bermudas and slippers for riding. Once you hit the ground and tat's it. If there's need to wear skirt during office hrs, just bring it along and change it when you hit office.

are those work pants or kevlar reinforced pants? i had wanted to ride to work with work pants (Slacks), but still thinking about it.

Yes, I was more concerned about Duke (my bike) too, after I ascertained that my injuries were okay. So sayang okay the bike. I skidded on a wet road upon braking and the bike flew from me. Fortunately my partner installed frame sliders and engine guards so the damage to Duke was mostly cosmetic. But OH MY GOD the cost of spare parts...

 

I fell on my back and tried to get on my front as I slided. So my right knee was skinned and I got abrasions on my left knee as well. My right ribs are also hurting from impact. But thanks to my riding jacket, gloves and boots, my injuries were very minor (still could ride bike to work after that) considering the speed I was going before I skidded.

Those were my work pants. I used to wear Kevlar jeans but always felt very leceh to change out of them. After this accident, I think I will still wear work pants but also wear knee guards in addition. (Komine from Motoworld) But knee guards will not protect you against bum road burns...

I was one who believe somehow if I will be able to bear the consequences of falling in Tshirt and Berm plus slippers as I'm a man.... we all said men are more "man" with some scars... However an accident in 2005 changed my mind.

 

half of my face was badly scarred because I was on open face. My left shoulder was badly cut and blood was oozing out like free flowing tap, my left ankle was broken into 3 parts. My pillion left palm was torn to bone sight.

 

After 5 years when I start riding again, I realised if that night, i was wearing a full face, most likely my face will not be badly scarred, if I was on my armoured jacket, my left shoulder would not be cut that badly, if I was wearing a proper boot, my left ankle will be more secured and will not be broken into 3 parts. If my pillion was wearing a glove, the tear on her left palm will not be so serious.

 

Well, when you choose to swing your right leg over the seat, you are basically accepting whatever you wear is going to be your only buffer between your skin and the rough tarmac. You can choose to wear skirt or berms, but do remember, sometimes the consequences might not be that easy for you to accept. Trust me, I was bedridden for 9 months to say that:)

i saw a chio bu riding in skirt the other day and its distract me for a while to look at her beautiful legs.. But then i decide to enjoy my ride instead.

 

So dun care if it endanger u, but it endanger others too.

riding in skirt can be managed with a sports bike coz your can "kiap" the tank with your legs so the skirt wun fly.. but i don't how u gonna do that with a scooter though..

wear skirt ride bike. safety talk? its all crap. i believe TS chose the decision to wore skirt over jeans/long pants properly despite knowing the full consequences. its her choice. Like how some guys won't leave the house w/o styling their hair. And for God's sake, she's a girl, some girls tend to emphasize more on outward look appearance while riding while some emphasize more on safety. Some dun want to lose their feminineness, some dun wish to lose blood, shred skin.

 

OOT: i seen girls in hot pants popping wheelies and stoppies on Singapore roads. Talk abt daredevils/lunatics/hot babes/cool girl stuff.

 

The thing about some of the guys here commenting is that, your trying too hard to force your opinions/views/feelings onto someone(TS?). Its not wrong to share your personal experience or feelings ( i do have my own fair share of falls). Being persuasive and being forceful is two different issues.

 

P.S. Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. What we men think, that may be best for women, may not necessary be what they feel is best for them and vice versa.

when you took riding lessons you are also required to wear long pants and gloves right? have you always wore them after you passed? therefore, its not against the law for ladies wearing skirt to ride. its just about safety issue.

also ppl. dress with ur riding objective. if travelling fast and far. dress properly.

if at night time juz wana pick up some1 10 block away anyhow dress also can. juz dun get charge for indecent exposure,,
