working at tuas has its pros and cons..

in the morning to work this morning along jln ahmad ibrahim at 1 of the junctions..

traffic light was red, so all formed up, and there's this TRANScab behind me.. i was the first bike in line on the first lane..

light turn green, not very rush for time, so i just move off per normal speed, 40-60-80kmh and proceed ahead..

then i saw from my right mirror that the TRANScab wan to overtake me from my right hand side, FYI jln ahmad ibrahim have no center divider.. he was on the chevron void area and attempt to overtake. sensing that he's about to try something funny like overtaking me and slow down, i dropped 1 gear and gun the throttle..

the bugger was left smelling smoke all the way..

take it easy bro, i unds how that feels, coz i'm travelling on the same road as well.. i believe many of us do too, and im sure elsewhere on other roads it's equally bad..

do what we can, dun worry abt what we can't. i.e. we CANNOT control how ppl screw up, but we CAN control how we react, most of the time.

in ur 2nd encounter, u SAW the van doing funny thing from 100m away, u can:

A) Carry on ur business, u have RIGHT OF WAY.

B) SPEED UP so u can avoid him faster.

C) SLOW DOWN in case he do something more stupid.

if u choose (A), u'll discover egg crash rock = u become liquid form again.

(B) means if anything happens, it'll happen to u at a greater speed - which may translate to more serious stuff.

© means u waste 5s of ur time, maybe get honked..

I hate it when drivers disrespect motorists. I was on the way back at commonwealth and stopped in at a cross junction next to a Grandis at a traffic light. I was in the bus lane, the Grandis saw me and edge forward. The side of the car was actually very close to me.

Uncomfortable with the proximity of the car, I moved forward a little, and he edged forward again, this time so close that his side fender was actually just few CM next to my fairing !

I stared at him and he pretended not to see me. The light turned green and he sped off. I was damn fed up, I am in my own lane, if I also sped off, he would knock right into me.

I normally don't attempt to challenge cars cause its stupid and I would be the ultimate loser, but I couldn't take it and sped off after him. He saw me beside him and attempted to increase his speed, but he couldn't outrun my bike....

I then passed right in front of him and he knows I am pissed already, then he attempted to change lane, I also change lane together. Then I braked a long distance of the traffic light and he kept his distance. Honestly I still feel stupid and angry from the incident, even to the point I want to follow his car and do something to it.

Just a headsup to all bikers, don't do what I do, because we are always at the losing end. Ride safe, ride with proper gear, and keep your temper while riding.

I disagree with one of the bros saying being angry makes u more agile or a better rider, it makes u more reckless and before you know it, you lose control of your bike.

At the arcade we play a game with 1 token, when you crash, you can still get up and the most put in another token.

On the road, you too have only 1 token, but when you fall, sometimes thats might the one and only token you will ever have.

Take care riders !!

take it easy bro, sooner than later that idiot will meet his match/ hurt someone.. u just gotta decide if you'll be either of them..

there are so much more important things to do in life.. :)

Ever had a time in which a driver got you so pissed you wanted to just stop and smack the bugger? I wish I could say I am unlucky, but its the irresponsible and negligence of the driver and not mine. For those that travel at Lornie road. Please be careful.

There are only 3 lanes on Lornie road itself and there is a U-turn in the middle of the long stretch of Lornie. This morning a van had wanted to U-turn. From about 150 meters away I could see him at the U-turn, at about 100 meters I see him reversing his vehicle which is illegal. You would expect that he would see a incoming vehicle coming towards him before attempting something to come out.

At 50 meters he had totally come out from the U-turn and I was so shock !! I didn't even have time to brake and narrowly missed his rear while on the left I had no idea whether the car in the middle lane would let me go.

I was so pissed that I slowed down, and all basically I gave him the finger. I don't normally show ppl the finger but this was totally uncalled for. Oblivious to the rest of the traffic behind, all the rest of the cars zoomed past. The van then switch lanes and slowed down in which I think if he was near me, I would really whack his incompetent donkey head.

Damn I was so close to be superman this morning, I don't think we should endure this kind of trash from drivers like this.

We choose to ride because we enjoy riding, cost or whatever reason, not to get bullied and swallow our anger just because other ppl abuse the roads.

Anyone thought of rallying other bikers for some feedback or positive action? I have not read the rest of the 300 over pages, but I am sure there are many incidents of other bikers who not only suffer from idiotic drivers, but clueless ones as well.

Although we are well aware of the risks for riding, that doesn't necessary mean we have to endure of ideals that riders are like "pests" on the road.

Be safe guys. My friend just told me his 21-year-old neighbor passed away this afternoon from a bike accident. Happened around 3pm. It could have been when it was raining. No exact details but just wanna reiterate, ride safe, our lives are fragile

Exhaust mid pipe done by Seng Kwang cracked so rode my DR800 to Seng Kwang to get his life time warranty.

But the boss was too busy to do up my bike, so booked an appointment with him on thursday. :sian:

On the way there, was very worried the exhaust pipe and side rack will drop off, but nothing happened. :)

Left the pipe and rack there and went back.

On the way home, tried out my stock pipe long time didn't ride with it already, pretty good at high speeds, but restricts the response in the lower gears. Nearing Yishun, it started drizzling, so throttle about 1/2 then realised it was already at 130km/hr so throttle down and turned into my carpark! Just in time to run into the void deck when it poured! Phew!

Guys, do be careful out there. With the release of the recent fast and furious, many drivers are taking movie to street driving to test their "skills". So do be careful out there while riding as there's been a spike in car accidents right after the preview of the movie since last week.

It always happen at night after watching the movie. Back in 2001, after watching Gone in 60 Seconds and Fast and Furious (this one I sneaked in), I also sped at 130kph in my car. This was in Brisbane, Australia. Somemore Fast and Furious was the last movie screening for the night. I think was past midnight, so not many cars on the road.

I do agree with you, JSCJL, don't let the emotions get out of control.

Best attitude to adopt.

I go one step further... I assume that EVERY driver on the road is an idiot going somewhere to happen... 100% defensive mode, no letting the guard down.

I keep away from all woman and uncle drivers especially, any Nissan Latio, Sunny, Mercs, Volvos or all huge SUVs driven by woman and taxi uncles who drive the old Toyota Crowns, these are the main killers on the road normally

totally agreed with you bro.. after watching the movie.. i walk towards to my bike, start it, rev it.. have the feeling to race with all cars/bikes..

when i go above 80, my gf pinched me.. WHAHAHAHA!! den LL, slow down to 70..

Anyway, back to main topic, today while riding.. as usual i guess? almost accident.. but heart beat is slow and steady.. not like last time.. heart pump like crazy everytime almost accident.. now pretty much used to it..

I would say, if you riding daily.. you will have at least one almost accident.. EVEN if you keep left lane, 50 on normal road, 80 on expressway, car will still "squeeze" you to road shoulders and etc etc..

Kindly read thru at least the intro section first before decide to post any comments.... thanks...

was riding in tampines when this lorry driver filtered out onto the main road i am travelling on without even checking his mirror or blindspot.!!.

luckily in time to swerve away and get ahead of it..

no traffic in front, so i turned back and swore and gestured at that driver..

realised from his facial features to be someone from the PRC.. how reckless and dangerous !

I avoid BMWs, SUVs, pick up trucks, taxis, woman drivers, old drivers, Bicycles and old women drivers. Either I ride recklessly, defensively or they suck at signalling, driving in general. They do realise that I can always catch them on the next traffic light and give the finger.

Agree... don't want to stereotype, but i always open my eyes wide when I ride near BMWs, Volvo SUVs, taxis, aunties on handphones, and Altis with sports kits.
