Not sure if whom i met b4 was marcus as i can't recall how he looked like or even his name, his identity(ex r6 rider) and address matches very much to someone whom i bought a scottoiler frm earlier this year.

Even if not ...RIP bro Marcus.

Rest in peace.. Saw him once at the checkpoint before.

The Gixxer rider could have been in a shock right after the crash, but it was really horrible for him to have just walked away on the spot.

For the certainty of death and the knowledge of life's fragility, makes it worth living.

This is incredibly tragic. I spent the rest of the day in shock after i heard the news. All the more coz i saw marcus prepping his bike b4 the session and he looked so happy and enthusiastic...this is a sad day for the biking community.

On a different note, i seriously think all stunts and showboaters should be banned from the track. I say that coz during the session today, I was going full bore when a nutter on a motard in front of me decided to pop a stand-up wheelie out of nowwhere, resulting in drastic measures from me to avoid him. I mean, seriously, I was so mad i nearly pop my own finger at him.

Please, leave the showboating somewhere else, this is a race track. We appreciate your talents, but for goodness' sakes, don't be an idiot and practice ur stunts at a track. I'm imploring you.

Today is a very tragic example of what can happen...

Wheelies in the track is common....and it is done at high speed, so it's never too much of a problem. The biggest problem is when a rider rides at a pace with so much difference to the rest of the pack, that is when sh|t happens.

Stoppie, burnout, donuts....somewhere else, please.

Yes, I will never forget he had been my sparring partner in PG. I am sure that if I should stick around, he would had pushed me to his level. It had been "team" thing and he has never been stingy on opinions.

Did he carry a race number on his 999? If so, let me know. Else maybe friends could decide a number to run in honor of him, let me know too. I will fly his number proudly on my bike.

Hilary.

You pretty right Hilary... Wheelies are indeed very common and frequently practiced on a closed circuit, especially while exiting on full throttle. Many times I have witness others checking back making sure it is clear behind before doing it.

Any reduction in speed at a high speed zone/stretch need to be careful accessed of situation before executing it. Just like hitting the pits both in PG & Sepang. Right leg out...

Thank You.

He never carried a race number, Hil. He's just there for the ride, as he always said it.

But let's stop talking abt Marcus the rider. He's more than that.

He had just started a part-time degree course. He was aspiring for better opportunities. He was laughing abt some assignment due next week while he was out Xmas shopping with my GF and me in Taka last wk. And of course, his quite recent Mahjong craze, always chio-ing me to his place to play MJ with himself and Mokamoka. I always turned him down after the first few times where they both whipped the pants off me and took away a percentage of my month's salary. And my constant teasing him about his fashion-victim ways... his liking for Louis Vuitton and other designer labels. Hell, just a week plus back, we walked into a E. Zegna outlet, and I was ribbing him about his taste in fashion. And his pet guinea pigs which he named Rossi, Capirossi, Casey. I forgot the 4th little fella's name.

He had a great sense of humor. And of my years of friendship with him, I've never once even had a rough patch with him 'cos we were always laid back and easygoing abt virtually everything.

It's all the good memories of him that I'll remember him by.

There are power wheelies and there are show off wheelies.

For track days here in the USA, you are briefed and warned that you will be ejected from the track for doing stunts, ie stoppies or wheelies.

Track riding is safe, its the clowns that make it dangerous. Having said that... we release everyone at the track from responsbility in the event of an accident which results in injury or death when we all signed the indemnity form.

Track riding, like road riding, requires a certain amount of self discipline too.

Rest in peace Bro. Yep, he was very passionate about track.

I remember my very 1st experience at track. Will never forget Flowers as the friendly guy who took the time to bring me to PG and guide me around the track. My condolences go out to his gf and his family.

Although we are saddened by the loss of such a good guy in our lives, there is consolation in that he left us doing what he loved.

R.I.P. my friend.

Flowers and me bought our bikes around the same time. Two noobs on 999s, newbies to PG with 2:30 laptimes... It wasn't long before he started putting on race tyres and getting lessons from the pros.

His passion for the sport is infectious. Once he even overtook me on my ZX14... on a wet track..... on his Runner.....

Flowers RIP...it had been great to have u during the ride

I hav no idea y i'm deeply affected by this incident although i dun personally noe anyone of the 2 riders involved..

But the shock still doesnt wear off even till nw..

The only way to find love isn't finding the perfect person, but by loving the imperfect person perfectly. True love doesn't have a good ending. It simply doesn't end.
