Guess the guilt was too much for him to handle..

231207..a date for all of us to rem..

An incident like this is 1 too many..

Regarding the Gixxer intention to quit riding totally:

Quitting the need to shine & gaining the mindset to ride or even drive responsibly is more important..

The only way to find love isn't finding the perfect person, but by loving the imperfect person perfectly. True love doesn't have a good ending. It simply doesn't end.

ok ppl..the stunt man has already met the family and apologised..and i hear the stunt rider regrets his mistake and plans to give up riding.. i dunno if it is true or just a mere spur of the moment thingie but thats the info i got. and since the dad has already spoken with the accused, lets close this thread yeah?

Yes, Gucci. I agree, but let's not close the thread. Instead, honor and pay tribute to his memory.

The other person involved in the crash has personally met up and apologized to Marcus' father for the accident. So let's stop cursing him or calling him names. It won't serve any further purpose anyway.

For those friends and acquaintances of his... if you have not attended the funeral, please see him at Blk 56 Strathmore Avenue on the 25th of Dec. It's a dismal Xmas for many this year, but it will be the last chance you'll get to see him... and for him to see you all.

On 26th Dec, 0845 hrs, his final journey to Mandai Crematorium begins.

The important thing from here on is for Marcus' family, loved ones, and friends to pick up the pieces and move on. Marcus would not have wanted anyone of you to harbor any hate anyway. He was always the sort who would forgive, or if not, then just move on and forget the matter.

Ultimately, there're no words or melodrama that I can put forth to convey the sense of loss that all of us, especially his family and his most loved one, is feeling. For those of you who have lost important persons in your lives, you will know what I mean.

For those who've lost friends and loved ones.... always remember them.

For those who've had the privilege and honor to have known Marcus... remember him always.

R I P fellow rider & condolence to the family.

I've had 4 or five riding buddy killed while riding in the track/road, some infront of my eyes.

Please don't blame another rider for any accident happen, especially while racing. Blaming each other will not solve the problem. It's really sad such accident happen but it has happen & I'm sure no one want it to happen. even now not knowing both rider made me feel sad that this accident happen.

We should learn and keep riding safely, be it on the road or in the track.

I really think think the other rider should not give up riding but be a better rider. At such speed & in the racing track anything can happen.

If we cannot accept what has happen, than I think we should not be on two wheels.

The track official should have done a basic safety briffing before each session at lease & if they have not, they should learn from this incident and not just let anyone ride without attending the briffing.

A rider is always a rider & never give up riding no matter what happen.

I agree with AKG that the guy has guts to come and apologise to Flowers family. I salute him for doing that. I also agree that this thread should be left as it is, for us to remember a dear friend who lives in our hearts.

i second that...even...a tragic thing happen....again...RIP..marcus.

Ok guys my fault. The guys not quitting riding but quitting tracking tats wat i heard. Anyway i just hope he really gets banned for good. And future users of the track learn from this very painful lesson. Its never nice to kmow someone has passed on due to someone elses stupidity.

My wife and I dropped by at the wake at ard 2am hoping to meet some of the forumners to guide us on the customary wake attending ettiquette but it was all quiet. As we are not familiar with the chinese customs, we left after observing a minute of silence in respect of Marcus.

Godspeed Marcus.

wud it be better if there's an ambulance standin by at PG during track day?

i understand tat during nusajaya motard track day, there'll always be a ambulance standing by at the track. in cases whereby any injured rider who requires immediate evacuation back to Singapore, they can make use of such service for a fee. i guess, other than immediate evacuation, there'll be skilled medical personnel around to provide first aid, in order to increase the rate of survival.

My buddy, you and I had fostered a close friendship in the tracks over a couple of years. There are times I would be faster, and there are times when you would be whipping my ass. It was never ending fun to ride with you, passing slower bikes and getting lapped by faster bikes at the same time. There was never a word of discouragement, because you are always very positive. We would watch each other's back on the way to the tracks, and the way back. Your famous quote "A Ducati would vibrate itself to death!" I will remember in my heart and never forget. We love our track weathered Ducati more than any garage queen Ducati we see in Singapore, and are proud of it. I would never forget the night before I left for Sepang International Circuit which you could not make time for the weekend, you told me with a smile "Enjoy the never ending turns!".

My heart is still aching till this very moment, and I never thought losing a track brother is so painful. My last track session before I came here, you took the effort to join me for a blast, and you had looked forward to see me again when I go back Singapore for a visit, but all is now lost in the dust.

Marcus, my dear brother :Rest In Peace. I will race you again on God's land on a Ducati. I promise you. You 999, me 748 like the good old days.

I will pay my tribute when I come back Singapore, and I will know where to see you. I will bring you your favourite chrysanthemum drink, with ice in a cup, and no, I will not dilute it with the ice, the way you always want it to be. Forgive me all I could do right now is to only offer you 3 joss sticks.

To AKG, Dop3s, RedRocket, Xgrind75, DeusExMachina, Dab|tch, mokamoka, and all friends of Marcus who helped out:

Thank you all very very much. Trust me that I really wish I could be there with you all, to gather one last time for Marcus, to be there for his GF. The cohesiveness and bond is strong, I am touched by what all of you had done for our brother.

I also want to thank gnayed and Spiderman for the prompt informations via MSN.

To the Gixxer 600 rider, because of your moral courage to step forward, I forgive you and may this lesson be learnt well, for the life that withered and grief you cause us all.

Marcus lives forever in our hearts, the people person. My life had been a privilege to be touch by yours.

seriously, the guy who did endo/stoppie there is totally brainless.

very selfish.

want to do stunts, look for big empty area or road. not on a track where others are going at insane speeds.

i am thinking, it must be those young guy who just passed their class 2 license.

just took a loan and push out the class 2 bikes.

sigh, it's too easy to buy a class 2 bike and join the tracks nowadays.

any ah kow, ah miao, tom, **** or harry can be using the track.

totally no respect for others.

This is totally unacceptable..........STOPPIE? WTF? Crazy? This is heart breaking news....and very personal to me. RIP, my dear friend. May you ride forever in God's land. God Speed.

Why did not the Gixxer do a stoppie on the highway?

well, showing off at d wrong place....

din he think abt other riders wen doing endo??

wat was he thinking.....

wanna do stunts should go circus.. the impact was very bad..

R.I.P to d duc rider.... my condolence to his family...

i was rite behind dat suzy n manage to swerve wen he do stoppie.....

wen i glance on my left, i saw a duc jam brake really hard....

turn ard n saw he crash.... haiz..

wat a sad dae today....

R.I.P to the Ducati rider. I was there though I did not see the accident. My condolences to his lady partner (she was in fainting state) and his family. Totally agreed with the rest that track is no place for showing off stunts.

I am sad for the Duc rider and angry with the Gixxer rider after receiving the SMS.

Yes, anyone know the Gixer guy? I just received an SMS that says PG is asking for the name of the rider.

i think its a malay fellow, (if i'm not wrong) short small fellow, in greyish white suit.

btw, hows ur bike?

Sigh.... a life lost where is even not his mistake.....RIP. If anyone here knows where the wake will be held, please post here. I would like to pay a last respect to him....

I hope the guilty party is conscious enough to know that the damage on his bike is nothing compared to the damaged he had done to the parents of the guy who just lost their kin.

R.I.P fellow biker. I was just abt 7 feet away from him in the paddock today all the way b4 the 5 lap race. There were so many 'STUNT'man so i only went for 12 laps in total.

Felt uneasy,not normal.

Motor racing is dangerous, must be prepared for all this. At own expence,i think we should not blame any party involved.(the circuit mgmt, the riders, spectators)

Man;3657842']Let's not speculate any further for it's for hard for his family and friends.

He's a friend & a great colleague.

Godspeed.

Ya.. Track is not a place for ppl to do stunts.

I saw a guy inside the pit keep looking at tat k4 damage bike.

not sure is he the rider...

The K4 600 attempt to do stoppie..

And as soon as he got down the whole bike come to a very slow speed.

The ducati behind was quite a distance away..

(Dunno whether he's try to do stoppie or wat but ended up when his bike he flip his bike and kana the gixxer...)

Edit 23/12/07 16:11

OMG!

R.I.P RIDER!

RIP Rider...

Heard that it was due to some guy's desire to show off!!!

Just got a call from PG.. The DUCATI Rider PASSED AWAY..

Hey guyx..i was there but i only saw the bike flipping and flying...

Anyone saw the whole incident???

I asked ard then some said that the GSXR600 slowed down(was it doin stoppie?) too much for the Ducati which was whacking full throttle...

However I might be wrong..

Hope the rider is alrite!!

Ride safe!

I have heard of these from fellow forumers & friends alike at the bikeys shops yesterday afternoon. It seems that due to one selfish act, that act have taken away one's life. In matter of mili sec, @such high speed, his life was taken away, cruelly & painfully away from loved ones.

I may not be a ardent race enthuasiast, but you dont need to have a degree to know that stunts are not to be done at the racetrack. I dont know why in high waters did the Gixxer did that...Didnt he know that they're other riders, both experienced & novice on the very track? Why show off at the race track, when he could take it to the paddocks? Life is so fragile, why risks everything that we have?

Good thing that the Gixxer met up with the Duc's Family. Riding again or not racing, or not stepping onto the track is a way for you to forget, dear Gixxer. BUT for his loved ones that he left behind, due to that one act of yours, all they have is his memories & photos that will continued to plague in their minds till the end of time.

Rest In Peace, Marcus. We may be strangers BUT riders onto two wheelers that binds all riders to one.

May God Bless you & May you rest in peace.

Lets not pursue the matter anymore.....the rider apologised, and please, everyone, do find it in your heart that at least he has the moral courage to step forward.

Like I said, and as all my frens of Marcus said, it will only poison our hearts. A lesson to be learnt, a lesson to be learn hard.

Agreed NoLogicOne .....

Mistakes ppl do make. Costly mistakes are even more grave. What you comprehend & learn from mistakes is the next step.

It was commendable for the "made a mistake" guy apologized. I have heard other we even went to the wake and kneeled to ask for forgiveness on similar cases.

Just paid respect at the wake at 4am. Dad is strong to hold it, but can sense that deep inside shattered....

RIP Marcus.... We all know he is taking the next supreme path that GOD is laid for him...

Thank You.

Ming, I totally understand how you feel.....I am still hurt to the core. But after all, Marcus will never be back. This is the cold hard fact. We have to fight the sadness. Marcus lives forever in our hearts, we will remember him for who is is.

It is not easy, but I keep telling myself getting all angry with the rider is only going to make things worse for us all. We have to forgive him, as he is man enough to show up and face the family.

I am working on something to remember Marcus by. I will let all of you friends in on the mission to remember Marcus. 07 Dec trackday is a dark day in our lives, and forever it will leave a scar.

I am also sorry that I am now in USA and could not be there by his side too.

That person can be forgiven since he had already met Marcus' family and apologised... and i hope he will be guilt stricken for life...

Given Marcus' character, he'll forgive this person too.. though he has moved on to a better place, hope this will serve as a wake up call for everyone/all parties involved...

The feeling will definitely not be the same if i ever step into PG again... that scar will always be there...

Marcus... I guess God took you back with Him because He wants to relieve you of your pain... it's very painful for everyone you've left behind... but at least... u passed away doing something that you simply love so much and you've definitely touched the lives of many... including mine... Rest in peace and Merry Christmas my friend... I'll always remember you and your smile... Till I see you again...

I have never spoken much to him at the track... just the usual Hi for someone I recognised.

But I have silently admired his desire to excel. He was no quitter and I admire people who really try to do their best. Such people know how to live their life to the max.

Am sure he knows he has no regrets.

Rest in peace Bro.
